Embrace Vocational Education, Uzum Urges Youths

Director - General of the Delta State Orientation Bureau, Eugene Azuka Uzum Esq, has enjoined youths to embrace vocational and technical education towards curbing the menace of unemployment and its attendant societal ills in the state.

The orientation helmsman gave the advice when the Executive Secretary of the state Vocational Education Board, Engr Smart Ikem and other principal officers of the board paid a courtesy visit to the bureau in Asaba.

Uzum maintained that there was the urgent need to key into the smart initiatives of the state government on technical and vocational education through practical skill acquisition, adding that technically equipped populace would accelerate the actualisation of the quest for a Stronger Delta, just as he promised to partner the board to ensure the realisation of its set goals.

Earlier in an address, Engr Ikem congratulated Uzum for his elevation to the director-general of the bureau, noting that the bureau had the capacity to fulfil the onerous mandate given it by the state government, just as he called for a proper synergy between the board and the bureau towards the realisation of the Stronger Delta vision.
