The GV80 is the three-row sports device that the young luxury brand used from the start. Genesis, which was featured on the rear of the G80 and G90 sedans and last year along with the G70, survives with four-door cars in a world obsessed with trucks and
SUVs. It is the vehicle that the brand has needed since day one, and will be on sale later this year.

The GV80 has rear-wheel drive proportions with a generous distance between the dashboard and the axle. From a few angles we can see a bit of Bentley Bentayga. It's in the folds and chrome along the flanks, the way the hood is separated from the front mudguards, the upright face and the large mesh grille. But the GV80 looks better than Bentley's Cetacean SUV.

The roof-line of the GV80 is less distinctive. The side windows look like they could have come from a Japanese SUV, but the Genesis' split headlights are new and will eventually find their way into the faces of the rest of the brand

Up to three rows of seats are available in the GV80 and there is plenty of space. French stitched and quilted leather abounds. A 14.5-inch touchscreen is attached directly above the dashboard. A touchpad, similar to that of a number of German luxury cars for spelling navigation information or dialing a phone number, is located in front of the rotary switch on the console. In front of the driver, behind the strange-looking two-spoke steering wheel, there is a virtual lane display. Ambient lighting, wood, and 10 airbags, including one between the front seats to prevent occupants from bumping into each other in a side impact, are also part of the deal.
But Genesis has confirmed two gas engines for the GV80: a new twin-turbo 3.5-liter twin-turbo V-6 and the 290-hp turbocharged 2.5-liter four-cylinder that will also be making it into the G70.
