We don't know the reasons without full details of how the Supreme Court justices arrived at their decision. There are a couple of theories, one being that INEC collation officers had added votes of other candidates for those units and cancelled only Uzodinma's votes.

The other more likely theory, is that Uzodimma was the only party in the case who requested his votes from the 318 units be reinstated and bothered to supply the apex court with evidence of his votes from each of the 318 units.

Chances are that most candidate engaged in fake voting in the units where they have influence. This is likely reason for the disparity in the figures.
The supreme court justices know this and it is not their duty to unravel the mess that INEC created in order see that the figures make sense.

Imo has been hijacked by the cabal

Imagine the likes of Uzodinma, Ararume, Uche Nwosu, Rochas, Oshiomole in the same table of brotherhood over our commonwealth.

You guys seem to be missing the point here. There were results from over 300 PU that Hope Uzodinma won with margins that were unbelievable. But the issue is that it had not been cancelled at the PUs affected so therefore the only other place where is should have been cancelled is at a competent Governorship Election Petition Tribunal (that's what the electoral act says).

The mistake is not from the Supreme Court. The supreme court is only upholding the law by validating those results (since INEC and Emeka Ihedioha did not know what to do).

Supreme court has no business with weather the total will now be more than accredited voters.

Ihedioha's legal team messed up big time. They should have filled a petition at the election petition tribunal asking them to nullify those results from the over 300 PUs based on obvious irregularities and INEC would have supported them.

But the whole declared vote now exceeds the registered votes. Exclude the votes of the other two who didn't request for theirs. If they request for theirs too, how come the figures don't tally.

INEC was funded very well to conduct free fair credible elections, there should never have allowed a situation where 318 voting units were illegally cancelled.
I swear this current INEC chairman needs to be sacked and investigated.

Justices in apex court do not have time reconciling mathematics. INEC conducted a very messy election, it is not the court's role to unravel the mess.
Who knows how the discrepancies in the numbers occurred. May INEC figure accredited may be wrong.
May be it is due to fake votes for any or all the candidates.

Apex court are meant to do their own investigations too.
Whatever case they are handling, they are required to properly investigate, compare their investigations with the evidences brought to court before they give the final verdict. They have the capacity and required apparatus to carry out such.

Some other judges will never buy this useless logic and will not hesitate to throw away that case but this is Nigeria where nothing matters any more.
