And Ahaziah . . . was sick: and he sent messengers, and said unto them, Go, enquire of Baalzebub whether I shall recover of this disease.

But the angel of the Lord said to Elijah the Tishbite, Arise, go up to meet the messengers . . . and say unto them, Is it not because there is not a God . . . that ye go to enquire of Baalzebub?

And he said unto them, What manner of man was he which came up to meet you, and told you these words?

And they answered him, He was an hairy man, and girt with a girdle of leather about his loins.

and, behold, (Elijah) sat on the top of an hill. And (a messenger) spake unto him, Thou man of God, . . . Come down.

And the third (messenger) went up, and came and fell on his knees before Elijah, and besought him, and said unto him, O man of God, I pray thee

At this time, Baal was the deity worshipped and the messengers who were sent to bring Elijah, went with the authority of baal, not God. They were representatives of Baal. The third messenger realized baal cannot stand before the Most High God, therefore he fell to his knees and quickly beseeched Elijah to pity him instead of leaving him to suffer the punishment meted out to baal. And God heard his prayer and spared him.

2 Kings 2

Healing of the Water
The people of the city said to Elisha, “Look, our lord, this town is well situated, as you can see, but the water is bad and the land is unproductive.”

“Bring me a new bowl,” he said, “and put salt in it.” So they brought it to him.

Then he went out to the spring and threw the salt into it, saying, “This is what the Lord says: ‘I have healed this water. Never again will it cause death or make the land unproductive.’” And the water has remained pure to this day, according to the word Elisha had spoken.

Note the bolded. After Elijah was taken up by the whirlwinds, Elisha received his mantle. An important observation here is Elijah controlled winds, and at the end of his ministry, the winds took him up after being called down. This wrapped up Elijah's presence and he passed on his anointing to Elisha as a ministry of restoration. Thus Elisha restored by the power of God, what baal had laid waste.

So, read the rest of the chapter in the light of the bolded quote and do not ascribe what did not happen, to events there.

What I'm saying is Elisha had a healing ministry and he applied it fully.
