Lots of Nigerians wealthy homes graduating with first class from foreign universities usually pay to have their assignments and papers written.

For everyone shouting They take their children abroad...here are some points.

(N.B- I am not defending Kalu, and am VERY HAPPY he is in jail. May he stay there )

1.School fees in the UK for unviersities are 9000 pounds for citizens, 12000 pounds and above for foreigners.(except in Scotalnd where it is free for Scots)

2.In the US, for unviersites, fees range between 3000 dollars and as high as 60000dollars.

3.In Nigeria, fees are less than 500 dollars yearly in government universites.

As a result, our unviersites are chornically underfunded.

4.Funding for educaiton in Nigeria is less than one trillion per annum. For developed countries, funding for university is in the tens of trillions alone. (Nigeria spent 3 billion dollars on education alone. Canada spent 70 billion dollars on primary education alone).

The truth is, if we want good education, we need money. More than what we budget for. And we cannot be expecting 20000 dollars worth of education from fees of 200 dollars. It is not possible.

Yes our parents went to school for free....when the total number of students in one university was less than 5000 students. That same university is now carrying 50000 students, if not more.

And where are we going to find the money?? When we are spending the money we could have used for educaiton on National Assembly, Presidential Jet, and even the waste called fuel subsidy, which people are using to chop. And even then, it is not enough.

Plus, we keep on voting the same old, whether PDP or APC.

How much do home students pay in Germany?
Why refer us to just two Anglophone countries that help buttress your point?

Tuition fees in Sweden
Students from the EU/EEA, other Nordic countries, and Switzerland enjoy free Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees if they study at public universities. Things are different with PhD courses, which are free for all international students.

Tuition fees in Finland
If you’re from the EU/EEA, you don’t have to pay tuition for studying a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Finland.

Tuition fees in France
Thanks to very affordable tuition fees, it’s not surprise that so many international students apply for Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees in France. Public universities charge both EU and non-EU students between 170 and 650 EUR/year, depending on the discipline and the level of study (Bachelor’s, Master's or PhD).

Tuition fees in Germany
Most Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees in Germany are free at public universities for all students regardless of their country of origin.

Okay, let's see what we have here...

1.Tax rates in many European countries are higher than in Nigeria. Nigeria has a tax rate of 0-24% Germany has a hefty income tax rate of 50% of the income. France income tax rate is 49% , Sweden 69.8% (For added measure, their VAT is between 19-26% for all three. Nigerian vat is 7.5%)is in

2.Also, Germany , Sweden and France have high incomes. Germany's per capita GDP is 54,984 dollars, France 47113, Sweden, 54,474. Nigeria? 2000 dollars . (Yes, you heard me right).

3.Spending for education in Germany Sweden and France...is in tens of billions of dollars.

4.That's why they can afford free education. If you want free education in Nigeria, our VAT would be 25% and our tax rate for income would be 45-50%. You won't like that.

Note: We can have free education in this country, but the facilities won't be world class because we don't have access to the type of funds a France, Germany or Sweden have.
