•Condoles with the family of Late CAN Chairman


Nigeria's Vice President, Prof. Yemi Osinbajo SAN, on Tuesday sent his condolence message to the family of slain Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN) chairman in Michika, Adamawa, Reverend Lawan Andini, who was executed by the Boko- Haram terrorists alongside a soldier on Monday.

Describing the killing of the cleric as 'senseless', the Vice - President said: "Words fail me as I share my heartfelt sympathy with the family of Rev. Lawal Andimi. The senseless killing of the bishop despite ongoing efforts to secure his freedom further reiterates the callous and irrational nature of the Boko Haram terrorists."

"A true leader and pillar of his church and community, Revd. Andimi remains an inspiration to us all."

Recall, a source revealed that the CAN chairman, Reverend Andimi was executed on Monday along with a soldier.

Speaking, the Special Adviser to CAN President, Bayo Oladeji, said it is sad but true; adding “We are working on our response”.

Until his death, the church leader served as the Local Council Chapter Chairman of the Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN) and also a pastor with the Church of the Brethren (EYN) at the District Church Council of Michika.

Restating the commitment of the President to defeating the terrorist groups, Osinbajo assured that the government is working relentlessly towards a safer Nigeria.
