donstan18: I'm sorry to say, ure illogical and irrational if this is what u can come up with.. I guess ure from the east where people/leader talk anyhow and boast anyhow.. Jagaban was careful with his choice of words. I think he sits on the fence on this matter but he did not deny his people. beside let me ask u what will jagaban support or oppose do to SW gov movement to legalise ?? I guess u wish he condemned it so u will now use his word against his political ambition .lol He just disappointed u. he already answered people like u in the epistle , that is if u can read rationally. Respect to Jagaban. 3 Likes |

AyakaDunukofia: I disagree with such approach. He doesnt want to alienate fulani political mates but his fulani political mates, one after another, are insulting his Yoruba political elders. What kind of reasoning is that? |

danilmo: Diplomacy is good and tact is desired but those two attributes have their place. On Amotekun, and regarding Tinubu, those two organs of eelationship do not fit in. What Tinubu needa at this juncture is Firmness. He failed to demonstrate the necessary leadership needed here. |

Lostz: Precisely! Tinubu's position further reinforces their false perception that they are "untouchable". He failed to hit them with the stick when they are caught in a compromised act. You fvck em up first, and then you apologise much later. Lets forget Tinubu and return to Amotekun. If you are not with Amotekun you are a terrorist and there is no middle way, you must choose between Sango and Amotekun. Awon were! |

He who is wise enough ll pick his own part and digest. I wish u learn some certain principles from Tinubu, no wonder he has lasted as national leader up to this level, with his style, he hasn't lost any battle of recent. |

So where there already ain't we.....Firstly am a pure Yoruba guy so no one should see me to say things cos am from a diff tribe....we Yoruba's should face the fact and be sincere with ourselves for ones....tinubu doesn't really fucking care and won't jeopardize his presidency ambition cos of one Amotekun....all wat he wrote there is soo much but points to virtually noting ...Tinubu is a politician and a good one at that so he knws the only way to be save on this issue is to seat on the fence.....for wat in particular "So his ambition for presidency won't be truncated.... And wat makes him believe is 100% certain he will be alive till 2023...this is the same man that placed us carefully into the hands of the northerners...." yes I said" cos that was wat he did. ..I did my NYSC in the northern part of the state and now I keep asking myself "why are the northerners so afraid of a possible Nigerian breakup".... I tink I now ave the answer and its simple " The COALITION called Nigeria favours only the North" ...60% of there states are as dead as a graveyard economically and all they wait for is FG allocation....lastly let me say this.....we are only patching things up and its just a matter of time before the imminent happens and Nigeria will sieze to continue....I will be here in 2023 wen the north will present there candidate and tell our so called jagaban to go Bleep himself....let's stop the jokes Oduduwa pple ....Tinubu is not a leader .... |

danilmo: What position? Hoping the North will give him presidency? That's more important than the lives of Yoruba and other Nigerians being slaughtered? Even if he became president, he will also try to be too intelligent and do nothing about herdsmen in the SW or South as a whole. People like you will still defend him by saying he needs to secure second term first. In his second term over intelligence will require him to mellow so that Yoruba can get another chance to rule in the future. Pa Awo put personal ambition behind SW interest. Otherwise he could have worked with the North in the first republic to gain central power. But he found them not progressive enough to work with centrally. So it would not benefit Nigerians at the rate of development he envisaged. A truly selfless and intelligent Southern politician right now would again rather fight for decentralisation. Amotekun is a tentative step. |

“Until now, I have deliberately maintained a studied silence regarding Amotekun. Many have tried to goad my swift public reaction. Those who have taken this road did so not because they care about Amotekun or even the people it intends to help protect. They did so knowing this had become a delicate and emotional issue for many. These cynics did so with the adversarial hope that, in haste, I might misspeak or misstep in a manner they could twist to their political advantage. This statement from Tinubu is very true ! 1 Like |

DONSMITH123:. The question is are u in support or not? Tinubu is only using language to stand on the fence. He is only protecting his ambition because he knows whatever he says may be used against him or on his favour. My submission is that there is nothing special about his speech that is more or less limping on two opinions. He is not greater above the south west so Amotekun project is a Yoruba project with or without Tinubu |

I fear for the future of this country o. Why are we the youths so hasty to jump on a band wagon without double checking. We all know the reasons and aims of this initiative called Amotekun, it is a very laudable idea but we are yet to know to what extent it operations will be. Neither do we know how it will be coordinated. There are many questions that needs answering and many modalities to put in place. For those of us that were around when the first OPC was started, you will remember it was more of a militia than a protector until sanity started coming into their operations, now its more a shadow of itself because of some overzealousness of its members which made people loose faith in them. Coming back to this Regional Amotekun network, I'm yet to see anybody quote from the constitution (though flawed, yet still our law), an part to support or against this initiative. My opinions and questions are as follows: We operate a federal system of government not.regional (at least that's what my Government teacher taught us in school back then). So we shouldn't be expecting the government to see a regional setup as lawful or legal. If the above is correct, therefore we need to take the Amotekun initiative back to be a state setup in order for it to go in tandem with the existing laws. Each state can name its own whatever it wants but In our hearts we know its a Southwest defense mechanism and we are free to have meeting based on that. My questions are: 1. Let's say the Amotekun works out now because all the south west governors ascribe to it, what happens to the outfit if after another election, a governor say I'm no more interested or if there is a fall out between two states sharing borders, how would that be handled? 2. How would the Amotekun members and their operations be curtailed if they turn on the people of the southwest they were supposed to protect? if they turn mafia? taking laws into their hands? 3. How will they be funded, equipped and paid? Will all these also come from the federal allocations? or Will we the citizens be over taxed again to accommodate that outfit? Remember #30,000 minimum wage saga. I love this idea. but let all these be explained to us before we put out a project that wouldn't last the test of time. Note:: This is my personal opinion, you have a right to yours. |
