Earlier this week, the Executive Governor of Oyo State, Engr Seyi Makinde and some of his commissioners were with the Minister of Transportation, Rt. Hon. Rotimi Amaechi during an extensive inspection of the ongoing Lagos-Ibadan Railway project.

Also at the event was the Minister of State Transportation of the federal republic of Nigeria, Gbemisola Saraki and the representatives of Lagos State government.

The inspection which started from the Ibadan axis spanned all the way to Apapa in Lagos, during the inspection the team was able to see and ask the contractors relevant questions and why the project will not be delivered in April as earlier speculated. This will be the 5th time that the Lagos-Ibadan completion date will be postponed.

Thats Apapa, Wharf... The railway will connect Apapa to make loading of containers easy right from the sea port

That is of more commercial viability than Lagos-Kano.

even if it is Lagos to Kano, it would link all 6 southwest states already 3 states are captured (Lagos - Ogun - Oyo) and the next phase would capture the remaining 3 states and link them with Kwara and Kogi (Omoluabi state)

So what is nepotistic in that? SouthWest and North have being trading partners since the trans sahara trade of yestercenturies.. all major factories sell to north and get farm produce from North

wow this is great. GSM is all over the state. meanwhile, Governor Seyi says New Garage, Abeokuta Ibadan Road will be reconstructed as he visits for on the spot assessment. Kudos to Oyo state governor, Seyi makinde.
