What pains me the most is that it is foreign contractors and engineers handling these projects, thereby creating wealth for their own home countries.

Yet, Nigeria has thousands of engineers being churned out of the universities every year.

They have hundreds of engineering professors in these institutions. Yet, we ship their work off to foreigners.

When you travel abroad, these same foreigners won't hire you fresh off the boat unless you go to their schools etc
why should it pain you? Have you seen the contract they give to indigenous contractors? They usually do rubbish

Imagine each state is made to build at least 1000mw in their states, that will automatically give us 36000mw

imagine lagos, delta, kano, Akwa ibom, kaduna, Rivers and Anambra can build at least 2000mw in 8yrs that is 7000 extra mw totaling 43000mw

is this not doable?

Nice development. But why are all our electricity projects concentrated in the North?

If una like make una build 1million mega watever if we do not solve d distribution wahala, everytin u r building is of no use

Abi what is d point of generating ten thousand mega bite of electricity and not be able to transmit up to five thousand?

Or better still decentralized the whole power sector

That's what you get when you decide to give good terms to a foreign contractor but become negligent and treat your own like crap.

Why won't they do rubbish.

Garbage in, garbage out.

There are good ones, but the ridiculous kickbacks government officials demand from them makes it impossible to execute the project to acceptable standards.

Nigerian government isn't about the people, it's about the elected.

Several NE states will not be able to achieve that goal in that time frame unless the government gets serious about eliminating terrorist activities in that region.

Can you analyze how many power projects are based in the north compared to the south?

all gas-fired power plants are located in the south (about 12,000mw), only hydro-electric power plants are in the north (about 2,000mw). If we add zungeru, it'll make it 2,700mw.
