Obasanjo is too ashamed to RETURN to the PDP, after publicly tearing his membership card, & installing Buhari who has become a NIGHTMARE to everyone.
But PDP is rooted in 774 LGAs in Nigeria, not OWNED by Buhari or Tinubu, whose whims hold sway in the APC.

Buhari is only a nightmare to criminals

Coca-Cola didn’t change its name because of the competition from Pepsi. Or it’s likes.
They didn’t change its name when they had ethical issues.
PDP should stop fooling themselves and realise that they would have easily won the elections if there was an election in the country.
There were no elections. We just had military-coordinated rigging as well as judiciary-stamped rigging.

Ensuring some decency in the electoral process should be their focus.

not a bad idea if you ask me. naturally people are attracted to anything that appears new, even though we know its same old-same old. Same thing that brought APC in even though we knew it was buhari, tinubu and co.

What needs to change is the people who called themselves PDP and not the name PDP. Those whose hands have been soiled needs to retire whole new leaders with impeccable integrity should be pushed to lead the party. What the PDP thieves want to do by a name change is deception and it is to recycle an old wine in a new bottle. Nigerians deserve a new wine and a new bottle.

All we need in our country is good governance, a government who listens to every voice from the citizens and not abuse their right...a government who will bring love and peace, a government for the youths, a government that will provide for the aged and grown folks...in a government we all will believe in, that's all we desire and deserve from every office holders

Simply shows that these people do not understand the problems of the party. Name change is not the issue but the behavior and attitude and character of those running the party and contesting for elections are the issues. Even if you change the name and give an idiot the party ticket, you still won't win.

They shouldn't change the name, it would be counterproductive

Instead, let it be like some rebel, join with people from other parties and form a new party, then proceed to take over PDP structure, state by state
