Dr. Onyekachukwu Ibezim, the Managing Director of Anambra State Oxygen production Plant stated that One of the legacy projects of the The Visionary and caring leadership of His Excellency, Chief Dr. Willie M. Obiano is the establishment of Anambra State Oxygen Production Plant which has become a succor to hospitals and health centres across the state and beyond.

He noted that according to the National Policy on Medical Oxygen, globally, oxygen therapy has been used in medicine for nearly a century. Yet, many lives are being lost in Nigeria due to lack of access to medical oxygen when it is most needed. Insufficient oxygen in the blood in children is a major fatal complication of pneumonia that accounts for 120,000 under-5 deaths in Nigeria per year.

With the above incontrovertible facts, Dr. Willie Obiano's passion to ensure that avoidable deaths which are traceable to non accessibility of oxygen in the hospitals across the state becomes a thing of the past deserves accolades.

Dr. Onyeka Ibezim, the Managing Director of the Oxygen production plant located at Chukwuemeka Odumegwu Ojukwu University Teaching Hospital COOUTH" Amaku", Awka, stated that the plant is accessible to both private and public individuals including health institutions Anambra state and beyond.
