Lol!... Until your anti corruption efforts begin to translate to the improvement of life for Nigerians, nothing will change. You can’t recover billions of dollars every year without any part of it trickling down to the populace. Shame on you guys! Keep chasing low level “yahoo” criminals. That changes nothing if the political embezzlers like Ganduje who was caught on camera is left unscathed! |

ICPC, this is a perception index. And the current perception is that corruption still thrives. The perception is that corruption has worsened. Is this correct? Well that depends on who you ask! Fighting corruption can never be selective! You with fight it entirely or you don’t. APC practices selective fighting hence the high perception that corruption thrives. Forget all this your glory talk; this is for the press and to excite your crowd. We know the fight is selective. Let’s talk about the elections, the aircraft filled with bags of money, the bullion vans, the nepotism, the injustice of the judiciary, the weak legislature, the non-existent executive. All corruption! |

ICPC not happy because their one sided fight against corruption not being complemented by international bodies because it look more audio than reality, and recovered loots dissappears into oblivon |

It is not enough to prosecute and jail, there should be monitoring mechanisms and a functional corruption complaints office to tackle bribe takers, contract fraudsters and ghost workers working in public/civil service |

Bros TI is very fair and truthful on this report, in fact, they even made mistake that favoured Nigeria, the correct thing is that Nigeria is the most corrupt country in the world. Do you doubt it? two little kids in the neighborhood were given N200 naira to help one aunty buy cookies along the street, they took the money, went and bought the cookies, stood somewhere and were eating. They were caught. Corruption has spread to even they unborn here in Nigeria. Whose fault is it? Everyone most especially the govt. |

Racoon: The world is not blind and does not need TI to know the truth. Corruption has massively reduced during buhari era. It explains why you are also constantly angry with the government because of no free money in circulation 1 Like |

Personally, looking at the source data (opinion of people) for Transparency International, the report is more than correct. The fact remains that Buhari’s administration has exposed a lot of corruption. So people now see that we are more corrupt than they know us. The ranking is not about how good is Nigerian government fight against corruption but how corrupti are Nigerians (not Nigerian government). Unfortunately, for those bashing Buhari anti-corruption war, the ranking was on Nigerians and not the government of Nigeria. The ranking is saying that Nigerians (ordinary citizens, executives, judiciary, police, government workers, private companies, legislators, etc) are among most corrupt people in the world. The ranking is just confirming that there higher numbers of corruption cases that has been won and exposed that previous administrations. Thanks to the Jonathan government. The more corruption and fraud related cases that are exposed by our social/news medias, taken to courts, etc. the higher the world perception of how corrupt we are as a Nigerian. This will always increase our ranking position in corruption related surveys. Take for example, if you see a man of God doing wonders, you are tend to believe he will be Saint. If one person, accused him of raped, you may doubt it, by the time 2nd, 3rd and 4th person accused the same person with evidence, you know how your perception about him being a Saint will reduced. The unfortunate part of it is that next time you see a pastor like him, you will has doubts about the genuineness of his pastorship. |
