CEO of Amazon, Jeff Bezos just added over $13.2 billion in a little over 15 minutes of trading, to his wealth. Jeff Bezos who is already the world’s richest man just got richer, according to a Bloomberg report, his personal fortune increased by over $13.2 billion, increasing his worth to about $129.5 billion. Shares of his Amazon.com Inc. surged 12% to $2,100 in extended trading at 4:16 p.m. in New York, after Amazon’s final quarterly earnings report for 2019 in which the company told investors it managed to achieve $87.4 billion in revenue. Bezos, 56, owns about 12% of Amazon’s outstanding stock, making up the bulk of his fortune. His ownership of closely held Blue Origin accounts for about $6.2 billion. The late surge Thursday added more than $90 billion to Amazon’s market value, pushing it above $1 trillion. The company’s Amazon Web Services arm also reported a 34 percent year-over-year increase in sales in the past quarter. This led to Amazon achieving a sales figure totaling 9.95 billion in revenue. That he becomes 13bn richer doesn't translate he can provide it in cash. This is just his stock appreciating. That's why drug barons remain the richest. Whatever money they are worth is in cash and assets which is almost liquid again 3 Likes |
