Dr Abu Temitope Johnson empowers Students as he gifts them JAMB Forms in Ipele, Owo Local Government, Ondo State.

There is an infamous maxim that says "If you think that education is expensive, try the price of ignorance". This has been the  statement of purpose for Dr Abu Temitope Johnson.

The Ipele born optometrist has proven over time to be man of valour, epitome of excellence and an articulate defendant of the masses.

In all ramifications of human life, Dr Abu is indeed a colossus worthy of emulation from those trailing behind him. A fact must be established that he has been active towards alleviating the plight of humanity from his school days.

As a Senior Prefect Boy during his primary and secondary era at Saint Stephens Mercy Nur/Pry School and Owo Diocesan Anglican Grammar School respectively, he has been an icon with unblemished record.

While delivering a Lecture, as a Guest Speaker, on the topic, 'The Role of Youth Empowerment in a Community', at a symposium organized by the Great Young Shall Grow Club, on the 27th December, 2019, Dr Abu made it known to his audience that we don't have to be a political office holder before we empower the youths around us. He stated that the importance of youth Empowerment cannot be over emphasized in any sane environment.

As a visionary, a leader per excellence, a revolutionary and a defender of the masses, Dr Abu immediately took it upon himself to sponsor the JAMB Registration of two prospective candidates, not just by promise but by immediate action.

While appreciating this kind gesture, one of the beneficiaries, Miss Awobayiku Victoria thanked her sponsor and wished him well in all his endeavors.

She stressed that Dr Abu is indeed a rare gem who deserves to be in position of National Authority.

As the longest serving President of the 'National Association of Ipele Students (NAIS)' a social cultural students forum in his native home, Dr Abu Temitope Johnson showed the salubrious ethics of a leader.

For the first time in the History of the association, Dr Abu was able to accrue for it a bursary of One Million Naira(#1000000), ably sponsored by Sen.(Chief) Titus Olajide Olupitan, a son of the soil.

This feat remains a landmark and a threshold for a young man in his late twenties.

It becomes imperative to note that Dr Abu Temitope Johnson is the first Ipele Indigene to become the Speaker of the 'Owo Local Government Area Students Union (OLGASU)'.

Posterity shall remain lenient to him for his immeasurable achievement during this time, most importantly, standing firm against the storms of "cabals"

On a final note, the Holy Bible says in the book of Proverbs that "See thou a Man who is diligent in his duties, he shall sit among kings and not mean men" Indeed, Dr Abu Temitope is a diligent man, who hasn't sit among kings along but among the echelon of high ranks.

His education and enlightenment never sway him off his traditions as he heads his age grade as the Olotu Olokoroba.

Over time, the people of his community has been empowered as beneficiaries in some of his self sponsored programmes such as Free Eyes Check up/Treatment, stationary for school children and a plethora of others.

Without mincing words, here is an astute man who has done exploit without holding any political position, not even at the grassroot level.

Here is a man who understands the power of empowerment, who knows the basis of education and who has committed himself to this course without flinching or succumbing to pressures.

The country, society, community and the immediate environment needs a colossus like Dr Abu Temitope Johnson at the realm of National Affairs.

It is definitely a certainty that the future of Nigeria, our states, our Constituencies, Local Government and even Wards will never be in vague, whenever we remember that there still exists among us a real Man Of The People and an Apostle of  Civil Responsibility.
