My people, today is Monday and already people are already feeling the full impact of the ban. The Lagos State government, regardless of it's positive vision and development strategies, owed the occupants of the state with the biggest economy in West Africa not just a rational explanation but also a solution before the ban took effect.

The cost of transportation, food and basically everything else will double in a matter of weeks.

The rate of petty crimes will increase. I doubt neighborhood corps riding bicycles can do much.

Lack of sufficient road side walks could lead to an increased case of hit and run in the metropolis.

The rate of unemployment just shot up by nothing less than 30%

To regulate the short distance commuting vehicles should have a smarter execution without disrupting the day to day activities of the average Lagosian who is almost always on the move. I am sure there are more than 50% of these commuters who would comply to whatever new rules the government puts in place. I mean, no be this same Lagos everybody on a bike had to wear a helmet? Even if na engineer's helmet sef.

LASG, please show some empathy. We're too much in this small state. How can 65 buses compensate? Our population can only be managed by underground tubes and monorails. As we no get, motorcycles and tricycles are our best bet, at least, for the time being. Transition from one mode of transportation to another in a city where there are more than 20 million people must be long term and not almost impromptu.
