That's not really true. Players like Aisha Mohammed (Aisha Balarabe) and Evelyn Akhator played in Nigeria before going abroad. In fact, Aisha played in Nigeria (for First Bank), went abroad for a few years and came back to Nigeria to play for First Bank before going abroad again.

Even players that play for the USA, like Nneka and Chiney Ogwumike, have been to Nigeria many times. Chiney Ogwumike did her internship in Abuja (while she was at Stanford University).
