Not withstanding, in Nigeria the official language is English and is taught to children in Primary school, Secondary school, by the time you get to the University you're supposed to have master the language well for proper communication. In China which you gave as example, English is not official and students of China who wish to study in England will struggle with English, so also will students from Germany, France, Russia, etc.
Nigerian students and graduates are not expected to struggle with English language!

I agree with you about a lot of things you said, but since you've been taught English from primary school upto university level you have no reason to not be able to speak the language, no, it's a failure on your part or that of the schools you've been attending.

The Chinese and footballers you use as an example were not born in an English speaking country only higher education and work took them to England as a result they'll definitely have issues with the English language, but you know what? give them a couple of years say 5 years and they'll be able to communicate in English language they might not become as good as native speakers but they become much better than the guy in that video who supposedly graduated from schools where he's been taught the English language for at least 12 years and also supposedly communicated in the same language for at least 4 years(university)

So, you shouldn't be justifying this guy. And yes, whole the ability to speak multiple languages is a form of intelligence, it is not an absolute way to determine if a person is intelligent or not since there are many forms of intelligence.

English just like Igbo, hausa and mandarin are languages made primarily for the purpose of aiding communication and nothing more. So it's not a big deal if a person can't speak English language, the only issue is if he's been taught English almost all his life and yet he still can't speak

It is excuses like this that will never make Nigerians eligible to study or work in the Western world until they take ielts, toefl, etc. The world is moving fast, this one is here shouting "southerners". Mandarin is the most spoken language in the world but China still enlists the help of English speakers to teach their kids English because English is the business language of the world. The official language of communication in China is Chinese. On the contrary, our official language is English. Every person that passes through formal education in Nigeria is required to have a credit in English and the language of instruction is also English language! Unless he is in his hometown or among his kin, it is an absolute embarrassment and shame that he and those ones in NYSC camp are unable to communicate comfortably in English language.
