A technology driven tourism centre, Voyage Afrique Cruise and Tours Limited has disclosed plans to organised the first tourism startup Innovation stakeholders' Interactive forum in Ogun state.

The interactive forum is scheduled to hold on Friday, 28th February, 2020 at the Conference Hall, Continental Suites in Abeokuta.

In a statement by the Chief Operating Officer of the tourism centre, Omooba Abiola Ogundeko said the forum is about bringing stakeholders together to develop the tourism sector in the state.

Ogundeko explained that the event would focus on the challenges on how to create sustainable tourism through information technology and innovation.

The CEO of Voyage Afrique explained that the guest at the forum would be engaged on how tourism startup innovation ecosystems can generate jobs, income and develop the economic of the state.

He maintained that the participants would learn how to design a real-world solution to innovation and entrepreneurship challenges facing the tourism sector.

According to him, the participants will learn about more effective programs to cultivate dynamic tourism startup.

He added, "all the participants will learn more during interactive sessions to design real-world solutions to real-world innovation and entrepreneurship challenges in the tourism industry, such as smart mobility, smart destinations, disruptive hospitality, rural development, deep technology, (location and geolocation).

"All our distinguished participants will learn more about innovative/disruptive nature identified, scalability potential within the business, validated business model, market penetration, entrepreneur/promoter team, etc. Plus, there will be numerous surprises during the event."

Ogundeko however said the Speaker of Ogun state House of Assembly, Rt. Hon Kunle Oluomo would declare the forum open.

Other expected at the event include the Iyalode of Yorubaland, Iyalode Alaba Lawson; Tunde Kelani; the commissioner for Culture and Tourism, commissioner for Youths and Sport, and stakeholders in the tourism sector.
