National Sport Festival: Is Uniben Admin Right In Suspending Academic Works? by emegreat1: 10:42am On Feb 22, 2020
The University of Benin gave a compulsory 2 Months Mid semester (from Feb 20 to April 12) break to commemorate the 20th National Sport Festival holding in Edo State. The University happens to be one of the venue for the sporting activity and the Deputy Governor of the state stated 75% of the Athletes would be housed in the University hostels and the University Sport complex would be used for most sporting activities.

In response the University VC Prof Lilian Salami promised cooperation stating the University will benefit in having upgraded modern day facilitaties.

Is the above enough reason to halt academic activities especially for those in their finals not undermining the fact the University, UNIBEN will be way behind in acadmic calendar when compared to most Universities. Not forgetting UNIBEN is a semester behind DELSU in academic calendar.
