The Chief Operating Officer of a technology driven tourism centre, Voyage Afrique Cruise and Tours Limited, Omooba Abiola Ogundeko has disclosed that plans are underway by the company to drive tourism with technology.

Ogundeko who spoke with the members of Tourism Comet Club International, Ota chapter on Friday said Voyage Afrique came into the tourism sector so as to make it a technology driven.

He explained that the company is on a look out for IT driven youth that would key into their initative.

Omooba Ogundeko further explained that Voyage Afrique would also be developing applications and softwares that would make tourism accessible to everyone through technology.

He noted that the company would be embarking on a six months incubation training for the youth in the state so that they can participate in the upcoming global competition on ICT.

The CEO maintained that the focus of the company is to ensure that every aspect of tourism is driven by technology.

According to him, because of the way the world is moving, we are trying to make sure tourism is IT driven.

He added, "to make life more meaningful and enjoyable to tourists and the local people, we need to bring technology into the sector."

He however charged the members of the club to see tourism beyond their noise.

He advised them to start looking for how they can begin to make money through tourism especially in the advent of technology.

Meanwhile, the CEO of Voyage Afrique also paid a courtesy visit to the Ogun state commissioner for Youth and Sport, Kehinde Oluwadare.

Ogundeko told the commissioner about his plan to organised the first tourism startup Innovation stakeholders' Interactive forum in Ogun state.

He disclosed that the interactive forum is scheduled to hold on Friday, 28th February, 2020 at the Conference Hall, Continental Suites in Abeokuta.

The CEO explained that the forum is about bringing stakeholders together to discuss how to develop the tourism sector in the state.
