AE-FUNAI CES DIRECTOR URGES LECTURERS TO ADOPT ON-LINE TECHNIQUE FOR PROCESSING OF RESULTS
The Director, Centre for Educational Services (CES), Alex Ekwueme Federal University Ndufu-Alike, Ebonyi State, Professor Dr. Johnny Ogunji has charged the lecturers of the Centre to imbibe ‘’quality ‘’ as a tool for exceptional perfection in the discharge of their duties.


Prof. Ogunji stated this on Tuesday 25th February, 2020, while making presentation titled ‘Examination, Examination Malpractice and Quality Assurance’ during a one day training, organised for the lecturers of the Centre at the CES Auditorium. He noted that there is need to differentiate between external and internal Quality Assurance System as it is important for everyone to know the ethics and norms guiding the organization. The Director stressed that while external system imposes a mechanism of checking from outside the quality of service provided, internal systems on the other hand, are mechanisms established within an institution aimed at improving delivery of services.

Prof. Ogunji maintained that in as much as finance is a major constraint affecting quality, it is important that every staff should put their best as quality is key in proper management, adding that AE-FUNAI aspires to be a world Class University and the process to achieve it includes conduct of examination in a quality assured format. He enjoined the lecturers to administer standard examinations and discourage malpractice so that the quality of our products will be unmatched and our reputation will become high.

Mr. Handel Emezue, the WEB Master of the Centre, who took the lecturers on Online Result Processing, stressed that the benefit cannot be over emphasised. He iterated that the gains of the online application range from Faster result processing time, Elimination of ‘’certain’’ human errors, Ease of Score/Graph sheet, Tracking of result modification and Storage of result on the cloud, stating that more of a practical work is involved using internet enabled Laptop with the use of user name and password. Emezue assured the lecturers that he will always be available to assist in any area they find difficult.

Secretary of the Centre, Mr. Ama Omaha announced to the lecturers that lectures for the Second Semester will commence on Monday 2nd March, 2020 and as such they should work hard to prepare the pre-degree students for the Joint Admission and Matriculation Board Examination that will hold from 17th March, 2020.

It is interesting to note that CES started registration of JUPEB students on Monday 24th February, 2020 for their external exams. According to Prof. Ogunji, about 245 students have already successfully completed the registration exercise.
