Like there is no excuse why we had ample amount of time to prepare for this virus. But, no. They must act poorly. Proper testing would have revealed someone coming from an infected area had it.

If Buhari and the Lagos State Governor were serious people, the Health Minister and Lagos State health commissioner would have been sacked by now.

I need to bring this up again. I wrote this February, 28, one month after I pointed out the need to Quarantine all those coming from risk areas. This would have saved us a lot of trouble.

Lai Mohammed also deserves the boot. Imagine him telling us we were ready when we did not even have enough testing devices.

Enough of these incompetent people running our lives.

Can you give me a reason why you disagree? The virus spread and people died because these guys refused to fight to Quarantine returnees and save lives, if they were not going to ban incoming flight.

Mocking does not give you credence. Tell me why the people who championed a recipe to lead people to their early graves in the name of self isolation deserve to keep their jobs when they can not keep people safe.

Lagos State ask passengers on plane with third coronavirus patient to self-isolate

Lagos State health commissioner Akin Abayomi has asked passengers on the same plane with the third coronavirus patient in Nigeria to isolate for 14 days.

The third coronavirus patient is a Nigerian, who returned from the United Kingdom last Friday, Lagos State Ministry of Health said.

“If you are a passenger on flight BA 75 that arrived in Lagos on 13th March, 2020, stay at home and isolate yourself for 14 days,” Abayomi tweeted on Tuesday.

We had since January to prepare for this virus and at March 13, 2020 their was no full isolation plans in case of an outbreak. Instead of contact tracing, he was still preaching self isolation.

If you are okay with him, it is your business. But, his incompetency is alarming.

It's likely you haven't been following the Health commissioner's interviews. In one of his interviews with Channels, he was asked why wasn't LASG enforcing a strict quarantine of returnees instead of asking them to self-isolate. His response was that statistics showed Lagos receives nothing less than 3000 visitors daily via flights, where should they now be forcefully quarantined when they fly into Lagos knowing fully well not all would even stay in Lagos after arriving. At first, it was the sole responsibility of the FG Port healths authority to screen passengers and test their temperatures but when they became overwhelmed with the number and some VVIPs refused being tested, the LASG had to send in about 70 of their staff to support the efforts and collect travellers data.

So the best LASG could do was advice returnees from high-risk areas to self-isolate while they also kept in touch with them via calls. I'm sure you must have read quite a number of people released fake addresses, and also some VVIPs flagrantly disobeyed the self-isolation order.

Now please tell me how with the few points here, is the LASG commissioner for Health at fault here and does he deserves to be sacked as you claimed?
Note also that about 4 weeks before LASG had it's index case, the commissioner had already setup an incident command center to manage the eventual possibility of the outbreak even before the FG started.

All this ones are story . All everyone is praying for now is a cure or vaccine and how they will create more isolation centers with bed spaces . Throwing blames now is not even necessary because the whole world is facing it at the same time

Someone did this days before they had their first case and you still call him incompetent?

It's not about throwing blames. This incidence of the outbreak in Nigeria has a lot to teach our government so it's important to identify the mistakes that were made, document it and highlight ways this could have been prevented so that in future, such a reoccurrence will not happen if we're the type that learns from our mistakes in this country.
