Bundesliga: The match between Bayern Munich and TSG Hoffenheim halted for the first time ever in the history of Bundesliga. The player from both sides stopped playing and let the time run out.

No incident ever recorded in the Bundesliga history that both teams reached an agreement to halt the play and let the time run out. The playing teams were TSG Hoffenheim and Bayern Munich, and the match was kind of over already as Bayern was leading the score with 6-0. The incident happened at the 67th minute of the game when Christian Dingert, the head referee decided to stop the play. The reason was a banner that Bayern’s fan waved in the stadium.

The placard was clearly saying ‘Hurensohn’ targeting Dietmar Hopp, which means ‘LovePeddler’s son’ in English, but contextually, these words are way stronger than the phrase ‘son of a bitch.’ It was one of the many other things that happened that day and which lead to this decision of protesting for Dietmar. The game started again shortly after.

But 10 minutes later, when Bayern fans yet again unfurled the banner simply depicting Du Hurensohn, where the letter D and H were blue representing Dietmar Hopp of Hoffenheim, the game was stopped once again. This time, both teams decided to act against this insult.

He described that the team talked with Hoffenheim players, Hasan Salihamidzic (the sporting director), Alfred Schreuder (the opposing team’s coach), and of course, with them also and came to a decision. He says that it was all their idea and that it was a good decision as it shows the solidarity in soccer and that they all respect each other and stand for each other.
