That guy is not a paedophile are presumed by you or others. He only expressed his view by making fun out of the statement and picture Daddy freeze presented. A real paedophile don't post such comments on the media especially on public forum. What freeze should have done was to block that dude or report to the handler of the social media instead of involving the police. Freeze mess up, a suppose preacher who profess Christ and critics of preachers who condemns similar thing he just did. If Adeboye did this, he would be first to criticize him. I want to believe God decided to test him to see how he would tackle this issue
I never said the OP was a paedophile. But you too, since you believe there's nothing incriminating about making such statements online, since you believe the guy was arrested only because daddy freeze (a big man was involved), then next time you find yourself abroad, feel free to make such lewd statements about kids on social media and tell us how you fare.

Abeg you win!... Feel free to make tsuch statements in public abroad.
Why should I? The purpose of this post is make people are not locked for what they said which the social media bill was focusing on. Thank God it is getting defeated.

So you think the fellow who was locked up is not someone's child? What would have been punishment if he had committed the crime?
stop saying crap. If you travel to the usa today they will check your chats, social media and texts. If they see that kind comment there what do u think they would do. Maybe when the yeye guy rapes ur unborn that's when u go soji

Oga no one in this entire thread has said you will be given jail time for making sexual comments so I'm not aware of the relevance of this your question....

But when you make such leed statements about a child, you will be arrested, thoroughly questioned, your activities past and present will be investigated, and you will likely end up in the sexual offenders watchlist which means your activities will be monitored for the rest of your life and you will be losing your freedom to find work in many sensitive positions.

Goodluck as you go ahead to make such starements in the developed world believing there are no consequences because you havent committed the act yet.

False, in a democratic setting.....At least in America, you will not be arrested.....Arrest only occurs when a warrant has been granted by the court after substantial evidence has shown the individual to be a predator. If it were not the case, he or hhe will be investigated asked questions to determine if he or she is a threat.

An arrest is found to violate the Fourth Amendment because it was not supported by probable cause or a valid warrant. Any evidence obtained through that unlawful arrest, such as a confession, will be kept out of the case.

Stop talking nonsense. Did you read the news where the US government was asking Apple to unlock an iPhone of a criminal but they refused. You think USA is Nigeria where police can check your phone anyhow?

You might not be jailed for making direct sexual comment to a 5yr old, but you will be arrested, questioned and put on a national register of sexual predators. You will be restricted from working in any capacity where children are present or involved. The local police would be notified in every community you move to. You would not be able to pass a criminal background check, and therefore would not find good employment in banks, government, school boards, hospitals, parks or theme parks. You would be basically ostracized from mainstream society.

What Daddy Freeze did was in order. I can't think of any good father who should not do the same.

we are taking about where crime or intended crime is concerned here which means having access to your phone can send you to jail

Laws that apply to citizens don't apply to aliens/foreigners ---- This is common sense.
The laws that protect the rights of citizens is rendered of non-effect you're a foreigner. An American with a suspicious post won't be arrested just cause, no, first an investigation has to take place before an arrest is authorized which then goes to trial.....This is what a foreigner doesn't get.

I never mentioned op as paedophile rather you did. I didn't even mentioned abroad because their laws and ours are not the same. The accused as buttressed by op isn't a paedophile rather he was just joking. I read the content of his statement to relate to a normal way Nigerians joke with things but Daddy freeze mis interpreted that man's statement. I thought he is a preacher of the gospel, why can't he ignore like the way Adeboye and others do? It was easier for him to arrest that man because he was powerful but let same scenario happen to a preacher then watch his response.

See me see wahala oo! Please where did i mention here that the op of this thread is a paedophile?

Anyway you claimed the guy who made the lewd statement about daddy freeze's son was probably joking. Maybe you should try that same 'joke' abroad and tell us whether your life will remain the same.

Not true.
Police routinely arrests people based on a complaint. Police do not need a warrant for every arrest. Police will easily arrest you in your own house if your wife complains about violence , or sexual misbehaviour . Touch a woman the wrong way and she can call the police and have arrested immediately, even before an investigation is carried out.
If you doubt it, to American and touch a lady , stranger, without her consent.
Sexually harrass a minor, and you will definitely get arrested as soon as the complaint is made. An investigation of the veracity of the claim will then determine whether you are charged to court or released.

Well, we were talking about what's obtainable abroad. The dude made a paedophilic statement and got arrested by Nigerian police, the OP of this thread claimed he was arrested only because Nigeria is a lawless society (since the guy had not broken any laws). I made a comment that in developed 'lawful' societies, a person who makes such statements online would also be picked up by the authorities, investigated, and placed on a sexual predators watch-list. In functional societies, they do not wait for the crime/damage to be done before they spring to action.

The examples you gave are situations where the detainee is being arrested on the spot because they've physically harrassed or assaulted someone which is legal ground for an arrest at the discretion of the officer........(there is some type of evidence presented even if doesn't tell the whole story)

No one would be arrested for an inappropriate comment (except of course a threat to take someone's life), until they've been investigated and found to actually engage in what they post on the internet.

Duhh!
The Facebook post itself is all the evidence the police needs to arrest the perv.
What other evidence do you need ?

And Yes, you can be arrested for a Facebook post if it sexualizes a minor.

That the so called perv has actually harrassed a minor?
Consumes child illicit material on the internet?
The police would find these out through emails, cloud storage and what have you.
