Exclusion Of South-East from FG's $22.7 Billion Dollars loan may push Igbo out of Nigeria - Ohanaeze warns

Ohanaeze Ndigbo Youth Council Worldwide (OYC) has warned that exclusion of the South-East region from the Federal Government $22.7 bn loan may push the geopolitical zone out of Nigeria.

OYC, in a press statement signed by its President general, Mazi Okechukwu Isiguzoro, says it have studied diligently the details of the approved 22.7 billion dollars loan by the Senate for President Muhammadu Buhari to address the infrastructural deficiencies in Nigeria but Southeast was totally excluded.

OYC, therefore, demand that the Federal Government Should publish the details of the zones ( with Proposed Projects) that will be beneficiaries for the loan.

Parts of the statement reads...

"Plans to exclude Southeast from being beneficiary will send wrong signals capable of shaking up the foundation and the Unity of the Country as it will not augur well for the Administration of President Muhammadu Buhari which We Support.

"OYC state categorically Clear, that President Muhammadu Buhari's 2015 Electoral Promise to Revamp Enugu Coal Mine had not been formally addressed since 5 years ago

"OYC Presents these Southeast Federal projects that should be factored into the 22.7 billion dollars loan and shouldn't be denied for any Political reasons, they include, Completion of 2nd Niger Bridge, Drainage of IMO River with Establishment of Owerrinta Dry Sea Port in Abia State, Revamp Of Enugu Coal Mine, Resuscitation of Nkalagu Cement Plant and Factory Ebonyi State, Commencement of Federal Roads approved during the valendatory session of the Federal Executive Council on 22nd May 2019,Which the Hon Minister of Power, Works and Housing had kept mum on, these Federal abandoned Expressways approved are " Reconstruction and Dualisation of ABA-ikot Ekpene Road , Rehabilitation and Dualization of Umuahia-ikot Ekpene Road, Dualization of Owerri-ABA Expressways , Rehabilitation of Akoka-Okigwe Expressway

"Reconstruction of Abaomege-Ugep Expressway and Completions of Enugu-Abakiliki-Ogoja Trans African Highway, OYC insists that these Capital Projects should be factored into the 22.7 billion dollars loan on behalf of the Southeast Zone, We are still Monitoring the development of ongoing Works on the Enugu-Port Harcourt Expressway,Onitsha- Enugu Expressway and Ohafia-Arochukwu Roads.

"OYC Observed that tensions are brewing up in the South East, as the mood of the people are tensed up on the rumour of Exclusion of Southeast from the 22.7 billion dollars loan,

"We call on the Federal Government to publish the beneficiaries of the Proposed loan with inclusions of South East Projects to douse the tension, as silence in these Situations will be a Provocative Attempt to push Southeast Zone out of Nigeria,

"We call on President Muhammadu Buhari to direct those involved to include the above listed Abandoned Federal projects for Southeast to save Nigeria from Disintegration, the statement concluded.

Meanwhile, below is how the loan will be shared according to infograph released by TheCable.ng

• FG: We need to borrow to fund the budget

• Facebook NG: Stop borrowing. Live within your means

• FG: Ok, let's live within our means by supporting local industries.

• Facebook NG: Are you madt? How can we live within our means in this economy?

• FG: Should we increase Taxes to fund the budget?

• Facebook NG: Something must be wrong with you. Do you want to kill the masses?

• FG: How about we sell some national assets to raise funds?

• Facebook NG: So you want to sell our national assets to your friends like you sold Etisalat to your family Abi?

• FG: So what can we do?

• Facebook NG: Remove Fuel Subsidies ( under recovery), you will raise N1 Trillion.

• FG: Great, we will remove fuel subsidies?

• Facebook NG: Why would you remove subsidies? Do you want to kill us?

• FG: But most of the fuel is being smuggled accross the border.

• Facebook NG: Empty brain, Close the border Joor!

• FG: Closes the border

• Facebook NG: Why must you close the border? Do you want to kill their economy? Besides the price of rice has gone up.

• FG: But we now produce rice locally?

Facebook NG: Which useless rice. Show me the plantation.

You sound like an illiterate person who lacks idea how loan works.

Before loans are approved, details of what the loans will be used for are requested, same with repayment plan. No serious entity approves loans without asking details and repayment plan.

Sen. Abaribe did exactly what any serious loan approver would do- provide him with details of the loan before giving consent. Before a bank would grant you a loan, they would request details of the loan and repayment source.

You write on nairaland does not make you an intelligent person

You have not said anything new. Those projects are they going to be constructed in Republic of Chad or all in Nigeria here?

I understand you, his own benefit was the years of PDP where they would have enriched themselves personally through looting the money meant for developmental projects

Those years were gone, apology to Olisah Metuh who once enriched himself personally for the money meant to purchase arms/ ammunition. Shame on una
