This is a true life story of a lady.

I know a girl. She had a dream of becoming a doctor. It was a childhood dream. She envisioned herself the day she would wear a lab coat on her slim body, wrap the stethoscope around her neck and "doctor" would be her new name.

She had worked hard in secondary school and now she found herself in IJMB. She had been hearing about how hard IJMB was but it was way beyond what she expected. There were periods of gyri and some periods of sulci also. What kept her moving forward was the desire and the conviction to be a doctor.

She would not let anything stop her from feeling of saving patients. She had seen it before. How a mother who had cried out all her tears from the fear of losing a child would suddenly light up when the doctor gave her good news .

When the results of the IJMB were released, so many thoughts crossed her mind. 'What if......' . What if she doesn't make it. What is she going to tell her parents. Does it mean her dreamed is crushed? What is she going to do next? .....She was happy when the news came that she had passed.
She didn't waste any time . She naturally applied to A.B.U. Zaria as her choice of institution. Medicine . She chose from the drop down menu.
Medicine was well...what it is. It is fun knowing about the anatomy of the human body part. Wow. So many parts to learn. The physiological working mechanisms of the body was another awe. The only problem was that there was a lot of things to learn. And there was just so so so so little time.
It was hectic. Lectures were cumbersome. Practicals were tiring. Fatigue was setting in. Tests were always popping up regularly. Before she could realize it, the exams was already knocking at her door. She did what she had always been doing. Getting up and busting her body. She had never studied as hard as she did for the mb1 exam in her life before.

Finally it was over. It was obvious that she had been shaken by the exams. Her fair skin had gotten darker. She had lost some flesh also. She was finally home. She slept like a baby.
She results were finally out. She opened her WhatsApp and clicked on the class group chat. She downloaded the results and scrolled through the list to find her number.

SHE FAILED.

......................intermission..................

She collapsed on her bed. She couldn't believe it. Were her eyes playing a trick with her? . She picked up her phone again and looked at the list again. She located her registration number. She recited out the number slowly beneath her breath. U -1-5-M-D-2-0-0-* . It was definitely her's.

And WITHDRAWN was clearly written across it.

She screamed in her head.

A lot of thing passed quickly from telling her parents to applying for a new course.
She was now in Botany. Of course she didn't like it. She was just there by accident. Many people tried to encourage her. They say that time heals everything. As the time went by, she started to like the course. The main push for her was the fact she was having EXCELLENT scores in her test and exams. Her hard work was paying off. While she was always struggling to keep her head above water in Medicine, she was breezing through Botany.

At the end, she graduated with ..

She doesn't have the brain to study medicine. She is now studying the course that her brain can do.

We did not send her to study medicine.
Not all dreams mature.
Stethoscope isn't for everyone.
Like everybody determined to go to school, she has gone to school and graduated.
This is Nigeria, where degrees can sometimes be meaningless.
Since u excelled so easy in Botany, find out how u will help in helping heal the world. The word "Green" has a Lotta money to be made from it if u cut your onions well.
