Ganduje and Kwankwaso have always been close friends and political allies. Their political enemy since 1999 was Shekarau. In 2003 when Shekarau was elected governor, Obasanjo appointed Kwankwaso as minister of defence and he in turn appointed Ganduje as his special adviser. They went to Abuja together and returned to Kano together as governor and deputy governor in 2011.

In 2014, Ganduje and Kwankwaso did everything possible to ensure the enthronement of Sanusi as the Emir of Kano. Today, Ganduje and Shekarau are political allies and Kwankwaso is their common enemy. The way of politicians is not the way of normal folks. The losers at every point in time are those that support them blindly.
