Breaking News – Equatorial Guinea announces first coronavirus case.

The first case of the deadly Coronavirus also called COVID-19, in the heart of Africa – Equatorial Guinea after a 42 year old woman was confirmed positive by minister Salomon Nguema Owono who is the health minister in Equatorial Guinea.

The Minister stated clearly that the 42 year old woman has been kept under isolation after flying into the city from Madrid, a week before the discovery of the virus but further states that she hasn’t shown any symptoms of coronavirus till Saturday evening but has been quarantined.







Equatorial Guinea’s government announced a series of steps to prevent the spread of the coronavirus in the country, including limiting access at land, sea and air borders before state passengers can come into the city.



All passengers arriving from affected countries must go into quarantine for two weeks regardless of whether they are displaying any symptoms of the disease.

The coronavirus pandemic has infected around 144,000 people worldwide and killed more than 5,400, according to the World Health Organization (WHO).
