Re: Celibate, Come Inside by Gforce2015: 2:20pm On Mar 16
celibacy life is or celibacy is derived from the Latin for unmarried - means a permanent state of being without sex or Abstinence from sex within a specific period of time either within or without relationship.
You might be wondering how abstinence is possible when one partner or person you intend to marry is around you. I will say that It all boils down to the level of commitment of both parties. It is easy to give causal or mere words or vow on celibacy but to ensure you stay with the words demands a lot of sacrifices from both partners.
So, in this thread, I will show you my little experience on how to vow and stay celibacy either temporarily or permanently. -

Are there any benefits to being celibate?
Potential benefits to becoming celibate include:

Overall, there’s very little risk of contracting an STI or STD. There’s still some degree of risk for those who practice forms of outercourse that include genital contact.

There’s a little-to-no risk of unintended pregnancy.
It may reduce the amount of money spent on contraception, such as condoms. Other forms of birth control, such as the pill or hormonal IUD, may still be needed for other medical reasons.

It may provide space for you to get to know your partner outside of the sexual activity.

It may help you further understand the difference between physical and emotional attraction.

It may free up more time to focus on your career, friendships, or family.

There are a lot of things that are involved in this.decision. it is a major life decision, those who choose to be celibate (either temporary or permanent) needs to understand what is required of them and carefully spend time and consider if they can meet up with such requirements before jumping right in.
In a religious house, it's expected for young men and women to stay a celibate until marriage (Heb 13:4) but do they obey the Scripture? (Fill in the gap)

Make the commitment to be a celibate goes beyond mere words. I don't care about the religion belong to.
Whether you make a vow of celibacy to a religious organization or to yourself, this promise is something that takes commitment and Practice.
What' soever you keep on practicing, one day you will be a master of it.
For example, if you have been staying a day without sex why can't you practice two days and keep at it. Constant practicing.....

How do you practice celibacy while dating or in marriage?
Some people who practice celibacy abstain from marriage entirely. Others continue to date or marry while limiting sexual activity;/whichever one that works for both partners or spouses are good. However, Sexual infidelity plays its role when you give your words and start indulging in another thing. This is bad.
And to help some of you in this situation I have given you one of my golden tips in the world of celibacy. PRACTICE. Practice makes perfection. And practice without purposeful commitment is zero. Don't be too religious or casual about it but practice to live by your words or vow. Settle your own part first before you expect God to do His own part in your sexual lifestyle.
Of course, at the initial stage, you keep on making a repeated mistake but with time there will be a better improvement.
I started my journey of celibacy world in the wrong way....but it works. Though it's not advisable. And I kept at it for several years.
I live a celibate life and because of the level of my commitment in those days, I also added a misogynistic life. That's (hater of female being)/this is definitely a wrong approach of living a celibate life. Though it works for me, but it's a wrong approach.
Follow me in this thread as I unfold some other tips for me to live a celibate life

Are there any downsides to being celibate?

Potential drawbacks to becoming celibate include:

It may be challenging to engage in romantic relationships, even if your partner is also
introduces physical desire or pressure to engage in sexual activity. Your sexual urge will be deliberately suppressed. And this is what a lot of people are running away from.

Some might feel as though they’re missing out on key life experiences, such as marriage or children, by eliminating or limiting sexual activities.

Some might feel as though others judge their decision, which can lead to feelings of isolation.

Medically, it comes with stress and often leads to blood pressure. Because when you engage in sex you could have eased out some of the stress build-ups.

It also is proven that abstinence or living a celibate life affects some of the hormones that make the brain function optimally.

For male, it increases the risk of prostate cancer while for female, it affect their uterus (womb)/

And so on.. You can research more on the downside of living a life a celibate.

Stay tuned for more celibate life practical information.

Another important tip about living a celibate life is to define your boundaries.

Relationship is so crucial in life. But in sharing our world space with people, it is much more important for us set boundaries. boundaries clearly define you. Boundaries also define you purpose and value you possess. For example, a house that is not surrounded by walls will be run down by intruders or assailants. Boundaries gives controls of what goes in and what comes out. Boundaries regulate thought, action, emotion and strange belief.
As you begin to understand what your commitment to celibacy means for you, you can start outlining your boundaries. You may find that these boundaries evolve as you move through your practice. Boundaries are not static. It keeps changes to suite your abstinence purposes.

Let's go for a tea or dinner-lunch break when I come back I will.explain more on how to.set boundaries. Pls stay tuned.
