We are excited to be hosting the first TEDxIkenegbu in April 2020 in Owerri. We are tagging this as the most powerful event that connects the community to its numerous knowledge and idea sharers. TEDxIkenegbu will take the form of a standard TEDx event; and one that falls into the clear aims and objectives of TED.

TED is a global community, welcoming people from every discipline and culture who seek a deeper understanding of the world. We believe passionately in the power of ideas to change attitudes, lives and, ultimately, the world. The “x” after TED means it’s an independently organized TED event. They can be organized by anyone who has obtained a license from TED and agrees to follow particular policies and principles. TEDx events are mostly known for their force to gather emerging and strong ideas in communities.

Asides putting Ikenegbu and Owerri on the TED map, TEDxIkenegbu will be an annual event that brings persons from different backgrounds as speakers to spread ideas in the lush community of Ikenegbu, a bustling space that is characterized of emerging businesses, prosperous outfits and a string of youth population. TEDxIkenegbu is interested in starting up and making sustainable spaces for conversations that transit from stage talks to community and social transformation.

On 4th April, we are welcoming on the stage, 10 speakers – reputable names who have all accepted to share their ideas to the pool of audience at the event. These speakers come from different parts of the country and particularly from diverse backgrounds – from artists to development experts, to medical professionals, to information technology gurus. As is the norm with TEDx events, we can’t wait to be inspired by the ideas of others. There is always a certainty that positive mindsets and mentalities are usually testimonies that come with post-TEDx events. Major benefits at TEDxIkenegbu are access to speakers, performing artists and for first-timers, an identity to have attended and equally participated at one of the TEDx events in the world.

The TEDxIkenegbu is a ticket entry event. Therefore, interested attendees are required to purchase tickets online at www.tedxikenegbu.org/register as there are limited seats available before the end of March 2020.
