The covid-19 virus has hit the NBA hard following positive tests for four players from Brooklyn Nets, two players from Utah Jazz and Wood of Detroit Pistons.

This morning, more tests have turned positive for other players and clubs.

The Denver Nuggets announced that a member of their organisation tested positive.

Following four Brooklyn Nets players testing positive for COVID-19, because Los Angeles Lakers’ players were exposed to them during our game against the Nets on March 10, our team physicians and public health officials recommended coronavirus testing for the players.

We learned today that two Lakers players have tested positive. Both players are currently asymptomatic, in quarantine and under the care of the team’s physician.

All players and members of the Lakers staff are being asked to continue to observe self-quarantine and shelter at home guidelines, closely monitor their health, consult with their personal physicians and maintain constant communication with the team.

The health and well-being of our players, our organization, our fans, and all those potentially impacted by this situation is paramount. As always, we appreciate the support of our fans, family and friends, and wish everyone affected by this virus a speedy recovery.

Boston Celtics also confirmed a player had tested positive

The Philadelphia 76ers also confirmed via an official statement that 3 members of the organisation also tested positive.

Modes of transmission are all we need to know.

For this virus to spread globally, then there should be other means.

Since they said it can be contracted through air, then there are chances if a carrier coughs / talks in your front, with or without nose mask, it is very possible to infect the other.

Since it can be found in a tiny droplet, then when someone talks facing you at a very close proximity, the tiny steam in masses containing the virus can shoot into the eyes provided you covered your nose.

An eyeglass , a nose mask should be worn and also a hand glove for maximum protection.


If you doubt my idea, then why do they say we should always wash our hands??

The virus can stay on the palms, thumbs, and when come in contact with the eyes, nose and mouth. Could be contracted( no wonder it spread quickly)

Social distancing is what we really need to practise.
