France has recorded 112 coronavirus deaths in a day, taking its total to 562, the health ministry said on Saturday.

There have been 14,459 confirmed cases, the ministry said in a statement.

It said 1,525 people were in severe condition out of the 6,172 who were currently in hospital. Half the severe cases were people aged under 60.

The spike came as the country experienced the fifth day of a lockdown, with around 100,000 police and gendarmes deployed across the country to enforce the new measures, with people only allowed to leave home for officially sanctioned reasons such as going to work, shopping for necessities or getting medical treatment.

The fast-spreading disease that jumped from animals to humans in China has now infected 297,090 people across the world and caused 12,755 deaths, according to Johns Hopkins University, triggering emergency lockdowns and injections of cash unseen since World War Two.

It is entirely circumstancial. Despite the Ebola experience, sub-Saharan Africa is totally unprepared for this pandemic. Thank our weather and hot sun and maybe even malaria, otherwise half of Nigeria would have been dead by now

* vitamin D from hot sun is immune-boosting
*corona does not thrive in heat and humidity
*sunlight breaks down corona
*cold weather suppresses the immune system
*Relatively poor countries have limited AC.
The more people congregate indoors in AC the more corona can spread than if they were forced outdoors by heat or congregate indoors without AC.
The AC has to be all over as in rich countries.
These things work together to give protection. Just one (say, sun alone) does not automatically immune u to corona!

This is a very tough time for the world. Suddenly everything is shut, it's like the world is gradually going back to stone age. I get scared to open my browsers these days cuz what is on every website is the scary reality of COVID-19.



At this time, so many questions cross my mind; could it be that the bible is right afterall? Maybe our sins has become too much for God to bear and has decided to 'treat our fvckk up' just like he did the Sodomites? Is the human age about to go into extinction just like the dinosaur's? Are we going to recover from this soon and everything return to normal? Great fear accompanies these questions as they cross my mind



I know a lot of people doubt the authenticity and reality of the bible and christianity, I doubted it too but as it stands now, I believe the bible is real cuz it has rightly prognosticated everything happening today. IMO, our best chance in this tough time is to believe in God, accept Jesus as Lord and amend our ways. If we sincerely call on God to save us, I believe he will never turn us down. Accepting Christ come at no cost; just believe that he is Lord, confess your sins, surrender yourself to him and ask him to come into your life as your Lord and saviour, you've got nothing to lose ...peace
