ON JOS: “It's unfortunate that when the whole world is coming together, we are busy getting innocent lives being lost. It is a very unfortunate circumstance. So I think we should blame the political class for getting us to this stage because it was not like this before; but this has gotten bad. If a leadership is good, the followership will be good.”

- MUHAMMADU SA'AD ABUBAKAR, Sultan of Sokoto.

His Eminence has made his point, which I consider to be really worth reflecting on. These are people who hav been living in relative peace with one another for many years. So why dis acrimony between followers of both religions in recent times?

At the end of the day, it all really boils down to who control the lever of political space of the state.

IBB should really take a chunk of the blame here, the creation of Jos north is completely not neccessary as it is the cause of the violence re-occuring in that state every now and then.

He is absolutely right. Impunity is destroying this country. I think the politicians behind these killings should be punished.
