The Management of Primero Transport Services Limited has commenced disinfection of all their buses across all routes to protect their passengers against the COVID 19 virus.

In a press conference held on Monday, the C.E.O, Mr Fola Tinubu, revealed the proactive measures to be taken against this fight and they include:

- Provision of hand sanitizers for passengers, bus drivers, inspectors and ticketing officers. The members of the staff would also be required to wear protective masks and gloves at all times.

- Distribution of electronic cards for payment on the buses against cash and paper ticket. This is more efficient and will help in minimizing the spread of the virus as this is higher through cash and paper.

- Ensuring that the buses do not carry above the recommended passenger limits (47) and the staff members are mandated to restrict entry once that capacity has been reached.

In its bid to increase awareness of the COVID-19 and break the transmission of the deadly virus, out-of-home media, ValueMedia Advertising in collaboration with PRIMERO Transport Service Limited, has launched a #CoronaMustDie campaign to reach millions of Lagosians daily.

The campaign is designed for commuters on all BRT routes in Lagos: Ikorodu - Mile 12, Ikeja - Maryland - Yaba - Surulere - Apapa - CMS - TBS.

Speaking on the campaign, the Managing Director of ValueMedia Advertising, Mr Ope Senbanjo, said the coverage of the virus needs to spread out to the semi-literate, the roadside hawkers and even the beggars in order to break the transmission cycle.

To help minimise the spread of the virus, he appeals to Lagosians to support their efforts by ensuring that preventive measures are taken and human contact is reduced to a bare minimum.

The NCDC has revealed that of the 42 confirmed cases in Nigeria, 29 are from Lagos making it the highest infected state in the country.
