Go on isolation, Group charges Governor Abdulrahman.


The People's Voice Advocacy Network, a civil organisation established to promote good governance and social justice has urged the Executive Governor of Kwara State, Mallam Abdulrahman Abdulrasaq to go on absolute isolation with immediate effect.

In the Press Statement released by the Assistant Publicity Secretary of the group, Comrade Olaitan Abdulraheem, the group made it known that there are chances that the Executive Governor of Kwara State might have been exposed to COVID-19 during the meeting held between some APC Governors, Adam Oshiomhole and Abba Kyari on 16th of March, 2020.

"It is no longer a news that the Chief of Staff to the President, Abba Kyari who actively involved in the meeting has been tested positive after his return from Germany and Egypt few weeks ago. As sad as the news was, we cannot afford to look away from the truth therewith especially when it has to do with the safety of Kwarans.

"With utmost concern, we want to urge the Executive Governor of Kwara State, Mallam Abdulrahman Abdulrasaq, to confine himself to absolute isolation as a matter of urgency. We fear that His excellency might have been infected with the COVID-19. We have the report that the Kwara State Governor and some other APC Governors were physically in attendance during the meeting held with Abba Kyari as the photograph depicted.

"At this moment in time, we cannot afford to look away from what can cause danger to thousands of innocent citizens in Kwara State. Harbouring a potentially infected person is not the right way to go. The safety of thousands of innocent Kwarans should be paramount to all and sundry regardless of political affiliation and religious colouration. The Governor should do the needful by confining himself to isolation and get himself tested.

"If the Vice President, Professor Yemi Osinbajo could go on self-isolation just because he sat close to the Chief of Staff who tested positive, how more of some Governors that spent hours in a close meeting with the infected person. The Governor of Kwara State and other governors who attended the meeting with Abba Kyari should toll the line of honour by picking a leave from the action of the Vice President.
