The problem of an average Nigerian, must be found in the aforementioned statement(Coronavirus, ASUU Strike and Nigerian Government) as it stands now. COVID-19 as a pandemic virus has been a concern for over 100 countries in the world, even the world powers are finding it very difficult to curtail the deadly virus, as it stands now the affected cases in the US has surpassed that of Spain and others, to show you how terrible it is, but to God be the glory that the number of recovered cases from this virus is much more greater than the number of deaths.

Unfortunately the dreaded virus landed and arrived in Nigeria, this was due to the recalcitrant nature of our Governments refusal to close the border on time. God has been helping our country Nigeria to combat the dreaded virus though with the nations epileptic and lackadaisical management of the virus, today we have over 65 cases in the nation and over 6 persons have recovered with 1 death. God be praised!

In the height and face of this dreaded virus, COVID-19, instead of ASUU to help the government manage the virus, they declared indefinite strike, no matter the grievances or agreement, this development at this time is an eyesore to this nation at large. In other countries lecturers are working day and night to see how they could ameliorate this pandemic virus, while in Nigeria, they are declaring indefinite strike. Strike has caused more harm than good in our educational sector, the continual industrial action has sent a wrong signal to the Nigerian students, the refusal to join IPPIS shouldn't directly affect the students but its quite absurd that IPPIS has made them embark on industrial action, very derogatory.

There is a current $2t stimulus package bill on the floor of senate, USA, this is a bid to ameliorate and savage the economy that will be at the verge of drowning after the management of this deadly virus. Instead of finding ways to savage the economy at this perilous times, our house of reps members are buying exotic cars. Why doing the right thing at the wrong time?.... Indeed its very unfortunate to see such vilifying development at this very time. I pray God will help his people at a time like this. As we pray for Gods help this period, we do all what we could do to curtail the spread of the virus. #WatchAndPray

ASUU should pray they don’t convert our dead federal universities to isolation centres.

Are you aware that the Fed Govt. has refused to pay lecturers their February Salary?

This is the end of March as well, and the Fed Govt is still adamant on not paying lecturers their salaries.

So you cannot expect lecturers to suddenly rise up and become supermen and women when it's not like they are on strike for any other selfish interest.

Rather, you should be blaming the FG for not consdiering the plight of lecturers in this corona virus crisis period, and pay them their Feb Salaries in order to stock their homes. These people have families who depend on them.

Let us be fair pls.

before you use a word, confirm the meaning. I don’t see how what you typed correlates with what I posted. What made you think it was a wish? Where did I suggest that I would be alive when it happens? Do you know the meaning of gloating? Or are you just another deluded Nairalander who can’t handle their fears of the unknown? Read and re-read, before you react, cos most times reactions can’t be taken back.

Hit Google to check the meaning of gloating...

No public University in Nigeria is equiped to diagnose COVID-19. The Real time RT-PCR techniques used to test COVID-19 is probably never been used by at least 90% of research personnel trained in Nigerian Universities. And you want them to go and do research. Research in which lab? Oxford University was availed over £200M for research in 17-18 session only. They've already developed a test kit for COVID-19 while other research along the same line is ongoing. In Nigeria, not a single public University received a dime for research, & you're here trying to form "intelligent". Whatever the benefit of ASUU strike would be, it is more for the future. And who is the future?...

And why did those lecturers refuse to obey simple instructions by the government to have their accounts captured into the IPPIS just like other civil servants have done What point is ASUU trying to prove by that action

The Universities were pulled out of the civil service during the Military Era for a reason..

ASUU fought that battle with their blood and they won't stand idle and watch ignorant rulers take them back to the dark ages..
