SUMMARY OF THE FINDINGS FROM THE BLAST SITE AT AKURE

From the Blast site at Akure. My Research group carried out a detailed analysis of the impact site. A circular impact crater with 21m diameter and 7.8m depth was found which suggest a natural phenomenal. Water was found oozing out from the edges of the crater. A preliminary insitu vibration, noise, seismicity, water analysis, radioactivity studies, rock and soil investigation were carried out. Our findings suggest that the impact of the blasting covers 1km radius of the surroundings of the crater. No evidence of fire or Burning of anything was found within the vicinity. No evidence of radioactivity radiation was found within the crater and immediate vicinity. The field evidence point to a conclusion that A METEORIC FROM AN ASTEROID BELT THAT TRAVELS AT A GREAT SPEED FROM SPACE IMPACTED THE LOCATION AT AN ANGLE OF 43 degrees created an ejecta at South-Western part. No evidence of buried vehicle, buried ordinance or IED was found. However, crack opening that vary in thickness from 3mm to 4metres occurs on the wall of most of the buildings but not at the base of the buildings. Also, foreign rocks and strange metallic objects we're found within the crater. Most of the destruction occurs on top and roof/ceilings of the buildings. Thank you, Professor Adepelumi A. A (Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile-Ife).

So, were there no debris from the mass (asteroid)that made such impact?

Even when the the police has confirmed that indeed a truck was involved this Nigerian professor said the the earth collided with an asteroid belt grin cheesy. Oga if the earth collides with an asteroid belt it's is not you we will here it from cheesy.

You didn't test for explosive residue

You know nothing about space materials and foriegn rocks to be able to use your eyes to determine you saw residue of space objects in the crater .

Just test the damn place for explosive residue and you will see that blast was caused by an explosive .

Oga the "funny metal" you saw there are residue of the truck

And funny gullible NIGERIANs will believe this man over the governor just because he has Professor attached to his name cheesy

This professor doesn't know what he is saying

We need more info.

This is similar to what bolides/superbolides can do, however, we need more information from both sides of the argument to reach a conclusion.

My previous position below:

Most likely a bolide. . . superbolides can do worse. See Chelyabinsk and Tunguska, Russia.

The above was my comment yesterday.

OTOH, it could be something else . . . we'll keep an open mind, let experts visit the site and let's get 'substantial' facts: truck remains and other vehicles in the convoy remains, satellite info, foreign materials on site, names and pictures of individuals involved, name of the company that placed the order, name of the gov't agencies involved, etc.

Whatever it is, we want to be cocksure it is what we are fed it is. We want to learn from it and act on the lessons learnt.

'Asteroid' is the wrong term here, this is what bolides/superbolides can do. A little research would shed some light and answer your question.

We need further information to prove or disprove this.

I've posted a few about situations like this in my previous posts.

Contrary to the police taking the responsibility.

So the police and the Governor were wrong?

Even a bomb from the sky won't create such a deep crater if it hits a vehicle on ground and the vehicle can't be buried under earth. The vehicle will be torn apart in fragments.

The atomic energy of any bomb that will create such a crater will be super massive and an over use.

I prefer to believe it's a heavenly body, a fast travelling hot rock or meteorite.

I have seen meteorites at night and some come very close to earth.

Every faceless moniker on Nairaland feels so relevant online while irrelevant offline.

A simple question "Where did you see the meteorites"?
