It is no longer news that Lagos, Abuja, and Ogun states are to be on lockdown from today Tuesday, 31st March 2020 due to the coronavirus Pandemic which has so far, claimed two lives in Nigeria.

These three states are the worst hit in the country, and the aim of the government in enforcing the sit at home/lockdown is to reduce human contact and thus reduce the spread of the virus.

This video shows the Abuja team who is being briefed of what is expected of them.

The man briefing them whose name cannot be ascertained as at the time of reporting, says "we are going out to tell persons who want the law that you cant break the law and give coronavirus a frontier to spread beyond where it currently is".

He further stated that the group which is made up of Police officers, DSS personnel, road safety officials, VIO officials among others would be further broken into smaller groups and paired with people from different agencies making one group.

He advised the team to work in synergy irrespective of their parent agency as they embark on this special task. He said they should be "extremely civil to those who are also going to be extremely civil, but those who have sworn with their ancestral graves not to obey the law, somehow you need to use if possible, the Indian approach because they must all comply".

According to him, if coronavirus spreads more than what it is currently at the moment, the country would be out for something more terrible.

He further advised the team to appeal to citizens to understand why they should comply with the restriction order currently given. "But should they resist and want to go further, then please and please we have no option than to use force. If minimal force doesn't work, then we all know what to do". This is needed to stop COVID-19 from spreading more than what is presently on ground.

Finally, he said he was confident that the team would be able to get the job done. He reminded them of the video that originated from India which made rounds over the weekend, where five to six men with sticks cleared out a worship centers (churches, mosques, etc), meaning that since the team was more in number, he is convinced they are enough to go round Abuja and ensure everyone that everyone complies with the rules of engagement they have been given.
