The Electricity generated in the country is not enough to go round hence the shedding... What I don't understand is the part where we sell electricity that is not enough for our own usage to neighbouring countries...

Coming from a historical background that electricity generation, transmission and distribution were exclusively done by the Federal Military Government (which couldn't be challenged) as a WELFARE and not as a commercial service for which the FG felt that the citizens ought to be grateful, power supply to the present populace can not be adequate.

The Constitution put electricity generation and distribution in the exclusive list.

Until we change these two factors, it will be near immpossility to have 24/7 electricity in Nigeria even if we spend $100 Billion on it.

Are you aware that it's the clueless Buhari govt that started paying Gencos for electricity that DISCOs reject , Buhari govt spent over 700 billion naira last year paying for rejected electricity ...Nobody did more for the Nigerian power sector than the Jonathan govt , the initiated , built and commissioned more power plants than Al previous administration combined , are you are aware clueless Buhari added a single new MW to the grid in 5 years ?

The upside down way you reason at times baffles me. You just wrote that DISCOs reject power from GENCOs and you still want Buhari to continue building new power stations that will eventually lie waste without first trying to untie the knotty power privatization that GEJ skewed in his usual corrupt nature to favour bribe givers and criminal elements.
