John Mikel Obi has been declared the greatest Nigerian footballer ever by Ex Nigerian player Daniel Amokachi.

Amokachi who won the 1994 Africa Cup of Countries with Nigeria considers Mikel to be the nation's greatest player with his accomplishments.

Mikel is the greatest player,'' Amokachi said. He has won everything that a player can plan to. No one has won that much of what he has won in Nigerian football.

Mikel, who went through eleven years at Chelsea won a lot with the team.

The thirty two year old won the champions league and europa cup with Chelsea.

On the universal scene, Mikel won the 2013 Africa Cup of Countries title with the Super Eagles and was a piece of Nigeria's U-23 side that won a bronze decoration in the football occasion of the 2016 Olympic Games in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil.

He quit universal football in 2019 AFCON finals in Egypt where the Super Eagles came third.
