Taskforce officials were seen trying to pacify residents to go back indoors; one of the residents replied by saying; "no food, no light, how do they want us to stay inside?" The lockdown can too sudden for many who did not have time to stock up their house or buy fuel for their generators due to the panic buying that ensured after President Buhari announced the planned lockdown which was to start on Monday evening on Sunday night; causing long queue in supermarkets, markets, fuel stations, banks, and others. Asides from hunger, the current heat being experienced in most parts of the country is nothing to write home about. |
