Ijaw championed the cause of the Niger Delta region. And you have enjoyed the most benefits, even up to having a President of the Federal Republic. Ijaws never acted in isolation. They had support from almost all Governors and ethnic mix-up in the Niger Delta.

But the presidency of GEJ taught us all a lesson. Ijaws literally hijacked the Niger Delta, everything had to be them, creating a false sense of a super majority group, claiming to be 14M strong when even their majority status in the region can be debated (yes, Ijaws are minority everywhere else excluding Bayelsa, which is just an 8LGA state, almost exclusively a swamp).

Just to cut it short, Whatever is good for Ijaw is good for any other ethnicity in the Niger Delta. Ijaws have had control over the NDDC for many many years and didn't perform miracles, so they should let Akpabio be. Not because you're not enjoying again, you're screaming corruption.

That is not true! Ijaw have enjoyed the least benefit in comparison to their size and financial contribution. Being president isn't a reward, it is supposed to be a position to serve. Ijaw people have always called for resource control, fiscal federalism and environmental conservation not political positions.
They didn't have support from governors. A few individuals from other ethnic nations lent their support. However, ethnic and political blocs clearly said they[other Niger Deltans] are 'peace loving' and that the Nigerian state should reward them for not being part of the struggle. Some went as far as referring to the struggle as an Ijaw struggle. Calling for the Ijaws to desist from calling it a Niger Delta struggle.

Jonathan's presidency did not favour Ijaw people because all the things Ijaw people were fighting for was never passed by Nigeria's parliament.
The Ijaw nation is the fourth largest ethnic nation in Nigeria. Does it make sense for the fourth largest ethnic nation to be minorities in all the states they are found except Bayelsa? The problem is most Nigerians don't even know who the Ijaws are. Ironically there are places Ijaws have larger/more LGAs than Bayelsa most Nigerians fantasise on.

To start with, Akpabio is Niger Delta minister not NDDC boss. It has never been about Akpabio, it has always been about fulfilling the mandate of NDDC. Ijaw people have been always outspoken, we never campaigned for NDDC or Niger Delta Ministry because we knew they all end like OMPADEC, organisations created to distract from the main issues. Even when our people were in charge people always registered their displeasure and they've always carried others along.

In recent history Goodluck Jonathan was the only president who didn't appoint himself as Nigeria's petroleum minister yet you guys won't let Ijaw people rest. The Fulani and Yoruba people who gave themselves oil blocs, gave tailors and hairdressers oil blocs are the people you go round to shake with two hands and a bow yet you always have the temerity to have an opinion on Ijaw people or issues.

You guys should grow a spine!

@1) YOU Flatter yourself if you believe that your the 4th largest ethnic group in NIGERIA. Pls help us and breakdown your supposed population figures and the distribution across the various states and LGAs you find yourselves.

@2) I'm to Imagine Diezani Allison was from France. And we all know her records as the most corrupt Petroleum Minister ever in the history of our democracy.

We all in Nigeria are a testimony to how well Ijaws have managed Bayelsa. They have brought out the best in the state and made her an envy amongst other states of the federation. A state Ijaws everywhere can hold their head high and be proud of. Rubbish and Ingredients.

1. Like I said before, you are ignorant on who Ijaw people are, the states and LGAs they are found in and I am not about to educate you on that.

2.To say that Diezani is the most corrupt minister under Nigeria's democracy is a fallacy! Under Obasanjo as petroleum minister Nigeria had international corruption cases that the prosecution hampered by the immunity
the petroleum minister enjoyed as president. Since Buhari became petroleum minister in 2015, there have been no records on Nigeria's oil sales unlike under previous administrations. Diezani tried to bring transparency into the subsidy payment regime. It is one reasons she was blackmailed and gorged out of office.
Diezani got what she deserved because she chose serving to the detriment of the Ijaw nation. She had a good in shell that she dropped to serve an undeserving country called Nigeria. If Diezani had by chance fallen short of the law the US would have applied for her extradition.
The Nigerian 'businessman' who happened to be based in America and had the subsidy payment regime was prosecuted in America. In the UK Nigeria has not been able to make any substantial case against Diezani. In the sane world legal cases are made and judgements made based on the respective laws. Not on the basis of rumours, ethnicity, religion, gender and blackmail.

Let's start with electricity for example, Bayelsa out of Nigeria's 36 states was only state Nigeria's central government refused to connect to their national grid. After Bayelsa had created her electricity for her citizens they were now forced into the national grid. If you don't understand Nigeria's laws and how it affects people despite their efforts just keep quiet or get informed.

Ijaw people's expectations are relatively high in comparison with the average Nigerians and as such we expect more. If we compare what Ijaw have done in Bayelsa since they started governing Bayelsa it is more than what Nigeria has done for Ijaw people in over 60 years.

Have Bayelsa done much with the little they recieved? Yes. Do Ijaw people have higher expectations than what is currently obtainable? Yes. Can more be done? Yes. Has Bayelsa done worse than other states in Nigeria? No.

The infrastructure most states in Nigeria enjoy is obtained at the expense of Bayelsa. For a Nigerian to question what Bayelsa has can only be instigated by ignorance, wickedness or an undeserved feeling of entitlement.
