There are at least 3000 unconfirmed coronavirus cases in Nigeria. Brace up guys for the nearest days/weeks ahead doesn’t seem good. It’s going to get really gloomy in the next 2-3weeks from now.

In the U.K., we’d 171 confirmed cases on March 17th, 3weeks later we’re at over 40k cases with over 4k deaths. Nigeria is on same trajectory.

Keep social distancing and avoid body contacts of any kind. In fact consider everyone as a potential carrier of the virus.
Were not.in a months time,it will be less than 1000 and over 200 recoveries

Corona virus has nearly 1 dozen symptoms, some people may have already contracted it and recovered without knowing, some symptoms of corona are also the same as comon cold and pnymonia, and malaria fever, however a vaccine have been found by some Australian Doctors and scientists, they found that the treatment for corona has always been around, the treatment is the same treatment used in treating scabies and open wounds.

Although some people may have died, some people also recover. even old people survive corona, and 81 years old man who doctors abadoned and waiting to die eventually recovered from corona and was discharged. no one really knows how this virus operates not even most doctors.

It won't

Nigeria will not record up to 1,000 deaths by 2nd of May.

That you are comparing Nigeria to those countries, shows how little you know of Nigeria.

BTW, 4 of these deaths are because the victims hid their travel history from authorities, it is individual selfishness that killed them, not lack of care.
Thank you barrister.we wont even have up to 1000 cases

Some of you are just alarmist.

Agreed that the numbers being quoted by the NCDC may be not be accurate but if there are as many cases as yall think....people would have been dying mysteriously all over the place since the virus either kills u or gets killed in your system within 4weeks.

Again...the genetic make up of africans may be more resistant to the virus - same way foreigners die more for malaria than Africans...

I share your position.

Even if the confirmed cases increase, the mortality rate here is not going to be alarming if, I mean if, our hospitals are not overwhelmed. Not everyone actually has to be admitted for Covid-19. But the psychological effect on some who test positive not being able to be admitted in a hospital in the event of an upsurge, which we do not pray for, will be devastating. That is my concern.

Just imagine one tests positive and you are isolated and because of shortage of health personnel you are not attended to, it will be psychologically worrisome and might lead to some developing BP and complications. This is what is happening in climes where there is a dearth of healthcare workers.

Another dimension to this is when as a Covid-19 patient you hear that the doctor that has been attending to patients has contracted it and is out of work or dead! According to the Americans - Go figure! Your body go dey shake nah. So these are some reasons some do not make it back home. There is a whole lot of psychology involved.

What is wrong with this Obaseki? His speaker brought this virus to Edo state and it has continued to spread yet Obaseki has refused to do anything meaningful about the virus. Everyone is still going about their usual business. Even states with no cases have already declared total lock down. Edo now has 9 cases. We are watching.
. States with lockdown are increasing more than Edo daily. So leave story...

As far say neighbouring states dey on a lock down
So there is no cause for alarm

What is this one saying? Have you been to Newbenin market? Uselu market and the rest? Have you crowds, what has that got to do with neighboring states? So we share it and kill ourselves because other states are locked?

Look at it from this angle, Without lockdown, Edo has 9 cases while locked down states are having cases almost daily.

Locked down States are just on audio.
It's an all or none thing. For now, no state is on "all" lockdown if we will be honest with ourselves and there is no state in Nigeria that can survive "all" lockdown for 7days. It's kinda timed one, people move around at certain period of the day. I wonder if the virus is circadian.
Lockdown while people are asked to queue for relief materials. This kind of approach for me is 2-0 against the masses.

But Obaseki's style is the sincere one afaic. It's 1-1 if you ask me cool
They shud rather put crowd control measures in place and intensify sensitization on hygiene and the virus itself.
Covik one nine is not something Naija can manage

This doesn’t relate to the original post at all

embarassed Lagos state coronavirus outbreak has violently erupted over the past few days, and the state is now driving the national pandemic — while on the other states, public health experts are wondering if late lockdown and poor emergency response will save Other states from a similar fate.

Continue your mingling brother. Last last, your governor will receive sense. The importance of lockdown can't be over emphasised from China to Iran to Italy to Spain to USA to Ireland to many other countries. If it doesn't make difference, why are they introducing it?
