Service Providers, Why Should Data Be Capped In 2020 by Deicide: 3:44pm On Apr 05, 2020
Why are we still paying for capped data? angry At least they should provide us with the option of paying for internet on a monthly or yearly basis, I don't even care about the price. You get data of 16gb and it wouldn't even last you a week, this is day light robbery! And I am fed up.......We need to protest o esp we Students.

I believe Advance Nations have this option for paying for data on a monthly basics and I believe that For Nigeria it is time we implement something like that. Who is with me?

thats not a valid point.

You cant compare Dubai economy and how people earns there to Nigeria own.

Its like saying that, because burger is selling for $5 in the US,it is expensive than it be sold here, for like #500.. Am just using that has an example..

They earn higher pays in those countries, your words have no stand please.

I feel your pain sir

but I think other internet service providers are already offering this

whereby you pay pay monthly then after you've allocated an amount of data given to you
the speed will throttle down a little

correct me if I'm wrong I don't know it all

What happens when people see cheat online?

Don't they start downloading useless things?

The then etisalat had a #20 for 5 mins unlimited plan. That could be renewed automatically every 5 minutes.

Why did they stop it?

They all bring actual unlimited, but Nigerians always misuse it. To download things that aren't worth it, things they know they won't use even

That's why they can't sustain it

You are generalizing it. And besides what is their Business what I choose to use the unlimited data for? I would pin the reason to why they choose to discontinue it to because it was cheap and not any stupid reason like Choice of what to download being stupid or not.

They slashed it because a high percentage of Nigerians use it to visit pornography websites.

This is an open fact which they stated.

See, forget. Nigerians won't use their normal data for these things, they use special data for it.

This is a really serious issue we should disturb them on their social handle about this. I am tired of paying for data that wouldn't last at least if I pay for unlimited for a month I can rest

But equipment cost is the same everywhere and servicing those equipment cost the same except the labour cost is less here.

Even infrastructure are not the same, in Dubai or any advanced country, their is stable electricity to service the base station, no need of security guard to guard theives from stealing diesel or any other things in the base station.
98% of Nigerian base stations are run 24/7 with diesel generator which is not cost effective.

Why do u think all other network providers are running at loss except MTN, MTN breaks even because of their market dominance and they leverage on same network calls and larger customer base, while others are in debt. Even almighty Etisalat collapsed because of debt they could not repay.
