The Management of University of Ilorin Teaching Hospital here by suspend Prof A K Salami as a Senior Consultant in the hospital. This is as a result of his unethical conduct in the admission, management and eventual release of the corpse of a suspected Covid -19 patient who died in the hospital on the 3rd of April, 2020.

A medical investigation committee has been set up by the management of University of Ilorin Teaching Hospital

He is a Professor of Internal Medicine and a specialist in infectious diseases, and should have known the implications and consequences of hiding a reportable disease condition that has humbled the high and mighty globally, yet:

1. He lied about the health and traveling status of the Deceased in order to get him admitted by the doctors (he probably intimidated those doctors into doing so)

2. He decided (for reasons best known to him alone) to subject the medical personnel at UITH including the cleaners to such traumatic experience

3. Even the lives of the ambulance driver and the entire community where the deceased was burried have been put danger and one can imagine the impact when covid-19 explodes

He is a disgrace to the medical profession and super disgrace to that professorial cap he is wearing.

Chai!!!!
