The police in Taraba State have again arrested a suspected child trafficker, Mary Yakubu, with 27 children.

The Police Public Relations Officer in Taraba, David Misal, disclosed Yakubu’s arrest in a statement on Monday.

He noted that it was the third time the suspect would be arrested, making it 60 children that have been rescued from her.

Misal explained that the children were rescued on Sunday at Tashan Takalma community in Gassol Local Government Area of the state.

The 27 rescued children comprise 14 males and 13 females.

According to him, 33 children have been reunited with their parents while the suspect is undergoing trial in a court.

The command’s spokesman added that the newly rescued 27 children have been handed over to the State Ministry of Women Affairs.

The suspect was first arrested on February 26 in Bali by the detectives attached to the Bali Police Division in connection with a case of suspected child trafficking.

Upon her arrest, she was found with 23 children while making an arrangement to convey them to an unknown destination.

Yakubu was again arrested on March 4 and led a team of investigation police officers to Mararaban Donga, in Donga LGA of Taraba, where additional 10 children were rescued

Something is terribly wrong here! Her " third arrest" who and who had arrested her earlier? Was she charged? Also does the story of offgive by parents tally? These questions are pertinent so to know full details of perpetrators and accomplices.

such wickedness coming from a woman...I hope she was properly arrested n face d penalty...27 children is too much na...I blame poverty n illetracy as a factor bcoz I won't be surprised if their parents are involved in this...poverty, illetracy n hunger is on d increase in dt part of d country...
in other news...a man came this morning said he was sent by d local government to collect details from each house lyk names, phone number and account numbers and we successfully filled them up with relevant info...he said he would use d info to distribute the palliatives allocated to us bt I lost hope wen he said that we should contribute 100k to rent 2 trucks at 50k each dt wud enable him carry the items to our environment quickly...some people said it's a scam bt d others said it's real n started d contribution n he wrote their names on a special list that he would start from them n people wey say Moni no de self de contribute n some even de transfer to him account...it's still noon n dm all de outside de use eye de search any motor wey pass street... nigga is 100k richer I tink....
