President Muhammadu Buhari has handed a presidential pardon to a former Governor of old Bendel state, late Prof. Ambrose Alli and foremost nationalist, late Chief Anthony Enahoro.

The Minister of Interior, Ogbeni Rauf Aregbesola disclosed this at a world news conference on Thursday in Abuja.

He said that the gesture means that they were never convicted.

The annoucement was made known by Interior minister, Ogbeni Rauf Aregbesola in Abuja.

“I am pleased to inform you that five ex-convicts recommended for presidential pardon (by Buhari) have been so pardoned. They are late Prof Ambrose Ali, Late Chief Anthony Enahoro, ex Lt. Col. Moses Effiong, Major E.J. Olanrewaju and Ajayi Olusola Babalola. Prof Ali was the governor of the old Bendel State in the Second Republic (1978-1983) and a great progressive while Chief Enahoro was a foremost nationalist who moved the motion for Nigeria’s independence.
“I must thank and commend President Buhari for demonstrating great statesmanship by pardoning these people who were part of the great Nigerian history”, he said.

Take your pardon joor, after arresting, detaining and torturing the most performing gov then (Ambrose Ali of Benadel state), with out proper trial. You are coming to pardon him after several decades of his death. What for?

This all bloody politics by the goons of APC who looking in the political terrain are aware that the APC Edo State lack what it takes for them to win Edo State during the forthcoming Governorship Election, why was the pardon not extended to His Excellency Bisi Onabanjo and numerous others who were jailed 300 years by General Buhari? Why only Edo State and particularly Ishan axis that is averse to APC. Jakande is alive today so would other Governors of the LOOBO State if not for the deliberate Wickedness of General Buhari against the Awolowo Political Family. Let APC, General Buhari and the imp Oshiomole eat the bodies of Prof Ambrose Alli, Anthony Enahoro and even Obafemi Awolowo and others they psychologically murdered.
