COVID-19 PANDEMIC: HON. EMEKA MARTINS CHINEDU DISTRIBUTES FOOD ITEMS TO THE NEEDY IN HIS CONSTITUENCY

- CALLS ON WELL- MEANING INDIVIDUALS, COOPERATE BODIES AND TOP GOVERNMENT FUNCTIONARIES TO BRACE UP TO THE OCCASION

In line with his assurance to remain grateful, as well as answerable to his people; and in continuation of his genuine efforts to bolster the effect of the ongoing stay at home order, the member representing the good people of Ahiazu/Ezinihitte Federal Constituency - Hon. Emeka Martins Chinedu - on Friday, April the 10th 2020, commenced distribution of food items worth Millions of Naira to the needy in his Constituency.


The food items, which were carefully selected and packed to include - Rice, Beans, Garri, Indomie Noddles and Tomatoes - may not have come at a better time than now, considering the excruciating effect of the sit at home order occasioning a halt in all commercial activities.

While presenting the food stuff to his coordinators for distribution, the legislative tactician who is famed for his Motion for "THE Abolishment Of Acceptance Fee In Nigeria's Tertiary Institutions", maintained that the items are for the needy, the poor and the vulnerable in the Constituency, whose names should be shortlisted by each and every traditional Ruler in the forty two ancestral autonomous Communities that make up Ahiazu/Ezinihitte Federal Constituency.


The lawmaker while reiteriating commitment to the welfare of his people, called on other well-meaning individuals to join hands in the clarion call to cushion the effect of lockdown in the State.

"By the special grace of God, I will remain committed to the welfare of my people. I want to also use this opportunity to appeal to well-meaning sons and daughters of our Constituency and beyond - the elite groups, cooperate bodies and top government functionaries - to consider the trying times as occasioned by the COVID-19 pandemic induced restrictions and join hands in providing some kind of safety net for the less privileged in our Communities."

He strongly advised that, "I am of the considered opinion, that if carefully handled, the mitigating measures will not only give our people a clear sense of belonging, but the expected self worth, to strictly adhere to laid down instructions by medical professionals, in order to slow the spread of the dreaded pandemic".

It will be recalled that few days ago, the people's Honorable who has warned against unnecessary politicking with the ravaging COVID-19 Pandemic , distributed customized Hand Sanitizers and instruction Flyers to his Constituents, as well as, deployed his Mobile Clinics, which is now stationed at Ahiara Junction, for emergencies.
