The major need for lock-down across all countries of the world is to ensure that the spread of Corona virus is contained and the current number of infected people are brought down by flattening the curve.
While providing stimulus package for the welfare of all the populace while also ensuring that businesses don’t run into losses – but has this been the case in Nigeria?

A developing Nation as Nigeria has been under many years of corruption by government, and the country hasn’t been able to live up to this expectation by no means.
Countries of the world like Germany, USA, Spain, Portugal, France, Canada, Ukraine, Turkey have announced a fiscal stimulus package worth several billion dollars to tackle the corona-virus pandemic. The package includes a one-off payment to lower-income earners, In addition, the package will be used to save apprentice jobs and support small and medium-sized firm, slashing its interest rate to a record low of 0.25%, to boost fiscal stimulus in the economy, Enabling cheaper borrowing for businesses by intervening in the bond market, support delay in loan and tax payments, increase pension pay, support businesses, and defer social security payments by 6 months for the retail, steel, automotive and hospitality industries, among others.

COUNTRIES WITH NO LOCK-DOWN IN PLACE WITH A CONSIDERATION OF THEIR ECONOMY AND HEALTH

No quarantine has been introduced in Belarus. Offices, shops, subway still work there, children go to school. Belarus has no strict restrictions like other European countries .The intervals of public transport were slightly reduced, and subway cars are treated with special disinfectants. According to Lukashenko, control at the border and at airports has been strengthened, everyone is being checked with suspicion of a corona virus with the participation of the State Security Committee. All visitors are required to undergo 14 days of self-isolation.

The closure of factories, shops, and catering establishments, the introduction of tax holidays will be an additional burden on the budget, cause a decrease in the standard of living of the population and, as a result, lead to an increase in dissatisfaction with the authorities. Recently, Belarus has been in a difficult socioeconomic situation. According to the Belarusian Economic Research and Education Center, due to lower world prices for oil and its supplies to the republic, production of non-oil products, Lukashenko is in no hurry to introduce Lock-down, as the economic situation in the country will become worse.

In Mexico Apparently, Obrador considered it inappropriate to introduce a Lock-down in the worsening socioeconomic situation in Mexico.
The Mexican leader fears that under quarantine conditions the economic situation will worsen. Due to the corona virus pandemic, it looks like Bolsonaru of Brazil follows the same logic as Lukashenko and Obrador, preventing the introduction of Lock-down, Brazil has an unstable economic situation.

Nigeria will have to look for other strategy without compromising or undermining the effect of the spread of COVID-19 as it seems like the extension of the lock-down may not be the best for a population were more than 75% of it’s population earn below 2 dollars per day or unemployed

1. Robbery and burglary have increased already with report of increase being reported, just yesterday it was over ten hoodlums that visited a particular area in Lagos hadn’t it been that people came out with their own weapons every house and cars parked would have been burgled.
2. The security UNIT in Nigeria are not always available when they are needed
3. The hunger people are currently facing may even kill some family even before they know it faster than the rate corona virus is increasing
4. Companies may not pay their employees currently at home and haven’t made profit due to the Lock-down this month
5. Those receiving the stimulus package is like mystery with almost all of the population complaining not to have received
6. Small businesses may not be able to pay their loans and pay their workers with no Stimulus package in place and may go out of business
7. The population that received or will receive the NGN 20,000 are not well selected – A particular party leader had all his family receive the package in Lagos. Its more like a political settlement, when the people receiving it are not the poor.

Approach like strict health and hygiene policy should be put in place, Masks should be worn by all – it mustn’t be the medical type, hand washing should be made mandatory at all offices and places, All vehicles should employ strict hand washing and Mask wearing, Any sick person must be informed to report immediately, Social distancing and reduction of gathering by less than 20 people.
The Lock-down hasn’t reduced the numbers, though it might have helped but Nigerians coming Into Nigeria keeps increasing daily and most times they come in infected. The travelers must be mandated to be quarantined for 14 days and tested before allowing back to the society.

With Nigerians traveling into the country from Europe and the USA and further increasing the number of cases at what point will the Lock down be lifted, is it when there's no more case and everyone infected is fully recovered. This may take another two months.

This other approach should be looked into and not the Lock-down that have been copied from Countries that have plans to sustain the people.

Bodies will soon start dropping in Nigeria like the case of Ecuador and not because of Covid-19. It will be as a result of hunger. But then if lockdown is lifted same will happen- thats inevitable in a country with leaders like we have here. So which one should we choose?

Its either death by hunger or death by Corona?
Saner countries would have effectively distributed the palliatives. in our case we're distributing Pallava here because--- A hungry man is an angry man.

When they are busy sharing Eba and Ofe nsala ?
Or one loaf of bread.

Or one man who thinks hunger is localized. One part of Nigeria is hungrier than others.

I tire for the kind useless mentality people wey dey rule Nigeria.

African Judgement is here... we all gonna pay for allowing lunatics to rig their way in over time.
This is not a matter of God punish them, we’re all gonna suffer the consequences of their cluelessness. Some stupid kids will still be arguing Apc, pdp and efcc even as glaring as it is that Africa will boil in months to come as a result of our ignorance and insolence.
