Ebonyi state as you may know is a rising star among the Eastern states, but there is a place that has been in abysmal darkness for well over five years. Truth be said, we have electricity for fifty minute in November last year, and that ends it. This ugly trend has messed up economic activities and the ones vibrant town is now a shadow of it's darkness. Even though the people of Afikpo has decide to forge ahead without Electricity, this is the depth of irresponsibility by both The Enugu based DISCO and politicians alike from this sleepy town. I believe the Governor is aware of this scenario, he has chose the 'sit down look' position as this people who are miles away from Afikpo and those who can afford Generator (politicians) use our comfort for their political struggle. I kindly use this medium to beg the elephants at war, to please have mercy and allow light to be restored to Afikpo.

I think Emeka Offor should be held accountable

I served in Afikpo North lga, Uwana(Ubeyi devt centre) to be precise, during my one year there I never saw power supply even once and this was in 2013/14.
So OP this problem has been going on for well over 5years. It is even more disgraceful that there is a federal polytechnic located in this LGA.

The issue has been on even before Emeka Offor acquired the Enugu Disco


I think it is a politico-cultural issue.

Traditional rulers and politicians from that zone can galvanize to restore electricity in that region

Why they haven't done that is what baffles me, it is either due to their selfish gains, or lack of the "political will".

People from that zone must elect better representatives

Until the next election calendar comes by, they must remain patient.
